Montreal's 3rd overall pick + Jared Tinordi ??

if I'm not drafting Yakupov I want Murray then? most would agree so I have a feeling Columbus drafts Murray due to their center depth and best player available.

Jared Tinordi is a 6'7 American, look at Edmonton's defence prospects, a lot have size with Marincin, Gernat, Musil and Klefbom. I would imagine the odd one pans out? which provides more size and toughness to assist the elite talent Edmonton have to showcase now a days.

Mikhail Grigorenko can replace Gagner on the second line and that lets Edmonton roll with a dynamic top 6 where Hall doesn't have to translate to center, let Smyth go to Calgary or who cares and sign Gagner for a few more years to play left wing and battle for 2nd line minutes against Hartikainen.

Hall - RNH - Eberle
Gagner- Grigorenko - Hemsky
Hartikainen - Horcoff- Paajarvi/Petrell
Jones - Belanger - Eager

Hartikainen-Petrell wing combo or switch Gagner and Hartikainen.

am I the only one thinking Gagner can crack 70+ points still or what?

Let Gagner stay on the wing in the future or center the third line when Horcoff leaves, eventually Curtis Hamilton will need a roster spot........or use Gagner as trade bait and sign Smyth up, you be the GM.
Are these reviews from last year?
because he hasn't been any good since February and flopped during the playoffs, then he wasn't "able" to do anything at the combine, so these great reviews are definitely from a while ago.

you are. with all due respect, not even Sam Gagner's own mother, who dearly loves her baby boy, believes little sammy can ever get 70 points a season in the NHL

The 2013 1st will not be traded, so this trade will never happen. Montreal also needs help right away at C and they could get a good one this year.

hmmm, tell me..... did anyone in the top 5 do significantly better than Yakupov? I believe the answer is no.

Montreal declines the OP with a smile and a nod.

Montreal laughs at the 3rd + Tinordi proposal and hangs up.

As far as Gagner ever hitting 70+ points...

It's ridiculous that you have Edmonton adding the 2012 second, for Edmonton to do this I would be asking for Tinordi + 3rd Overall + late pick for 2012 second + 2013 first + contract dump, otherwise Oilers get reamed.
I lold pretty hard. Unless you just didn't read the whole post and thought it was your 2012 1st and 2nd for the 3rd overall, in which case I apologize. But otherwise I lold.

If Bergevin somehow lost his mind and made the call, I would PRAY that Edmonton hangs up. I am glad you think they would, it gives me hope in case Bergevin loses his mind.

I doubt Edmonton would hang up over a proposal that gets them a top defensive prospect at the cost of moving down 2 whole spots in the draft.

Why would we trade a potential franchise player, for tinordi and the 3rd overall? We might not even get Murray at #3, so why are you so sure about it?

Habs wouldn't make the trade anyway. Oil can keep the 1st and draft another forward, hope it works out better then it has the last handful of years. Then again maybe Tambellini wants the 1st pick in 2013 as well.

it's been working just fine! we just haven't magically gone from worst to first overnight...with this being a rebuild and all.

EDM is less likely to hang up since the OP stated EDM 2nd 2012 and 1st 2013

Yep and the habs would say no that trade or even the one where they add Tinordi to move up to pick Yakupov. From a team needs standpoint, the Habs need a stay at home d-man with size and they need a centerman with size and top-end potential. Therefore, it makes zero sense to give up on team needs to trade up.

Oilers would have to look to the Islanders or Leafs if they want to trade down because i doubt CBJ would trade up to get Yakupov nor the Habs obviously.
