Technically, it's the G7 tickets that will be "free".

ZING!

I actually dont think this series is over though. It's not like the Kings have played lights out, either game could have gone either way, and the Kings are ridiculously fortunate to be up 2-0. Given the even nature of the games, it wouldn't be THAT shocking to me for the Devils to win a pair in the Peoples Republic of California.

No biggie. I left the Loft on Edison street pretty quickly in anger as well. As soon as OT was over I took my bucket of full beers & handed them out and walked briskly out of there.

Devils86 got me one so i'm super happy. Funny fact is every game I went to with no towel they have lost.

Soooo, any theories about G5 tickets? A lot of scenarios to consider. If, by the grace of Lord Stanley, they somehow tie the series in LA, do you think the SH prices will drop like in G2, or stay high-ish? I'm debating on when to pull the trigger on a ticket. Do it early, or roll the dice again next Saturday. Just worried that if they do tie it, prices won't drop like they did for G1 & G2.

And there's also G7 (Lord Stanley willing). I can't imagine cheap tickets for that one, right?

Prices are already going to go down a bit the next couple of days now that there's no chance of us winning the Cup in Game 5 and we're behind 2-0. It'll be worse with a third loss in the series, but on the other hand if it gets to 2-2 prices will be higher than they should be because everyone would be excited about the team again.

And no, there's no way in Hades you get cheap tickets for a Game 7 unless you run to the beginning of the $110 ticket line right when Game 6 ends and camp there for a day and a half.

I think I may just buy a G7 ticket off SH in the next day or so. I mean, what do I have to lose. Chances are I'll get refunded anyway. And if not, I'll be holding a hot ticket.

Actually, maybe I'll buy a pair. Might be able to sell the 2nd for a little profit to offset the cost of the ticket I use.

The only thing to add to the above, is that there's absolutely no point in buying a Game 5 ticket right now. Most tix are still priced around $270 to $300 right now, which is WAY too high for the moment, so they're not going to sell any time soon.

The only other thing to consider, is that with 3,100 tickets for sale, it will be important to see how many people buy if the Devils make it 2-1. Because if everyone waits to buy if and only if the Devils make it 2-2, there could be higher than normal supply for a Game 5, with ~44 hours turnaround, but that's really putting the cart before the horse to even think about right now.

This one is pretty far down the line, but apparently the two teams in the conference final play each other as their first game? Did not realize that.

Who said that? I know for a fact Boston didn't play Tampa this year (last year's ECF) to open the season - they played Philly, Tampa was in Carolina.

There are also 900+ tickets available 10 hours before puck drop. Seems like people might be reluctant to pay those prices. Not sure how many we had on Stubhub at this time Wednesday or Saturday.

A little bit of the $$ has to be it and also gotta remember its a 5pm start time over there so a lot of people won't be able to get there during a weekday because of work

If it was 1-1, they would still be as high. It's their first final game in 20 years.

Well fact is we don't know what their tickets go for day in and day out of the playoffs because we're not obsessed with following King secondary market activity the way we are with following our secondary market activity. Obviously the predictions of our 'own' prices are going to be a lot more in the ballpark.

Even with the number of broker sth's they have and the fact their games start at 5 PM on weekdays you had to figure that ticket prices would still be high for their first Finals games in twenty years. Think about this, we've been to four other Finals between their last trip and now.

From watching this tickets thread and the last tickets thread, it seems that at least from the small sample size we have to look at from here, most of the $275 or $350 per ticket pre-sale buyers were fairly young people, in their 20s.

In other words, the people who have never been in this situation before, and thought SCF tickets for the Devils would sell for eleventy million dollars.

Sadly, they're also probably the people least in a proper position to blow hundreds in "extra" dollars on tickets (college loan debt, just starting out etc...). Lesson learned I guess.
You're probably right, I felt sorry for the 20-something female that wound up next to me for Game 2, she definitely paid 'TM value' for her seat lol. Usually when I sell singles online it's just some older guy that winds up next to me.

I've decided to pull the last minute TM/SH procedure for Game 5 (god willing), but prepared to pay more than rock bottom if I have to.

But looking waaaaaay down the road to a G7. There has obviously been little movement on SH for those seats, with a huge inventory left. Cheapest single is $475. Does anyone think these prices will drop, before going back up and beyond? Anybody around for the '03 run want to comment on what G7 tickets went for back then?

I don't see them dropping much (not that a few people won't get a great deal). Plenty of advance notice on date, so people who have conflicts (presumably) already have their seats up. Hard to see too many more people posting their seats, so supply won't increase. Buyers aren't, for the most part, thinking about Game 7. Everyone knows exactly what they are buying with Game 7 (vs. Game 5, where even now the demand for a 2-2 series vs a 1-3 series will be significantly different).

Easy for me to say (since I have season tickets and aren't looking to buy), but - unless you are looking for a single - I would say buy sooner rather than later ... the outcome of tonight's game SHOULDN'T impact Game 7 pricing at all, but a Devils win may result in some increased buying late tonight/early tomorrow a.m.

The other key (and I haven't looked) is the depth of availability at price levels. After the lowest price of $475, are there hundreds between $475-$500 ... are most tix well over $500? Total inventory isn't as important as inventory bunched near the lowest price point (or YOUR personal price point)

Well, I would only be looking for a single for G7. Looks like this game, if it happens, will be the one game where the presale buyers didn't get royally screwed.
