Why are so offended? Take a chill pill. How many teams does Radulov want to play for/which teams will he sign with? Have you heard of any other NHL teams in connection to Radulov? The guy does have a nice contract waiting for him to sign. The NHL isn't his only option. He controls where he wants to go.

I think he needs the right team...I don't see him fitting well in New York at all...unless its with the Islanders.

I used to want him on Malkin's wing...but honestly after his performance in the playoffs, pass. Not only that but he's gonna command in the $4-6 mil range which he may or may not be worth.

I think he's a great player but honestly I think he's in the wrong league. He is a much better fit in the KHL.

Not sure if any team is willing to give up assets for him. The KHL is a serious threat and his attitude could possibly be a problem as well. Maybe swap his negotiating rights for someone elses? Radulov will almost certainly be better than the other player though... I don't know what his value is. I think this is one of the cases where we really don't know his value unless he gets traded.

Don't think he's a Torts kind of player. He'll get the Zherdev treatment from him.

Where is anyone saying he "won't sign in Nashville?"

He's close to a contract with CSKA, but the word is that he'll only play there if he doesn't get a deal done to stay in the NHL.

I can't see Nashville saying, "well, a second round pick is better than nothing for our most talented forward. Thanks, mr sather!"

He has an obvious history of being a flight risk.

Normally, I'd laugh at a 2nd for Radulov, and I think it's going to take more than that to get him, but if you think you're getting a big return for him, you're sadly mistaken.

Have fun losing him to the KHL for nothing, AGAIN.

I can see how some could make that assumption based on the games 3 and 4 suspension. He may not feel that he was treated right or fair in that situation.

Legit reason to not want to sign in Nashville? Probably not, but what was the reason he bolted from the team in the first place?

There are legit concerns with this player, but they are not based on anything other than past events from the player himself.

The fans may not want to believe it, but Nashville isn't in the best position here. If Radulov doesn't want to sign with them and they don't trade his rights they lose him for nothing. This isn't really Sather trying to fleece Poile, he's willing to give up an asset to take a risk on a flighty player. Poile if he can't sings Radulov absolutely needs to trade his rights. He may get a better offer from someone else, who knows.

Nobody is offended fella. Your offer was poor. I merely stated that. Someone will beat it easily.

I'm sure New York has a much better chance of signing him than other teams (assuming Tortorella is on board) because it is New York...much easier to persuade a player to go there than the middle of nowhere...(fill in city name yourself)

Radulov is so fiery that it actually might work having him with an alpha dog coach in Tortorella...think he would respect getting yelled at a lot more than being suspended with very vague details and crucified in the press...

Someone on HF surely will, but in the real world who knows... Fairly sizable risk involved for the team acquiring his rights.

1st + 3rd would be the minimum asking price.

IF Sather does trade a 2nd for Radulov, then it would prove to me that Torts has absolutely no say in the players he gets to work with on the ice. This kid is the anti-thesis of Tortorella hockey. While no denying Radulov's talent, he is just another in a long line of Russian players that think they can just get by on individual talent alone. Tortorella will crucify him the first time he floats or take a shift/game off. When that happens, I don't think Radulov will gain respect for his coach, he'll probably pout an whine all the way to the bank. On paper a low 2nd for his rights is a bargain+. In reality I think Sather & Co would be taking on a bigger headache. Look at what Torts did with an injured Gaborik in game 2 of the semis. Imagine the hammer he'd drop on Radulov. He does not have the mentality to win in the NHL.

Read the whole thread before posting.

p.s. It was under the assumption Radulov wanted to play in vancouver and would sign for 4 years at 5 mil per

so dont bother with the 'doesnt wanna be here' or bolting back to KHL or 'wont play for (place various coach here)

Radulov is perfectly capable of playing the NHL schedule and did so for years before bolting. The proposal was under those conditions and your damn right the Canucks pay that. More even.
