Awesome! One of the top prospects finally making his way over. Next up, Kuznetsov (as much I don't want to see him play for the Caps).

yea, Hitchcock is such an evil taskmaster that nobody with offensive talent would ever play for him. I guess that's why Andy McDonald averaged a point a game last season, and Perron was on a 30-30-60 pace last season as well, and they're two of the Blues' most gifted offensive players who also happened to be out for a significant portion of the season.

Talent will succeed under Hitchcock's system.

Let's keep this thread about Tarasenko coming to the Blues. There is no need for a debate on prospects. If you want to have that debate - go to the prospects board.

Gonna be one hell of a Calder race this year between guys like Tarasenko, Granlund, Yakupov, etc.

Ask again in about 4-5 weeks when we see if there are any draft trades and/or UFA signings. It's unclear what direction they will go in replacing Arnott. They could shift someone playing wing back to center, they could trade for someone, they could sign a UFA (e.g., Chris Kelly). The options are many and until we know how that shakes out we don't know who's left on the wings. We do know Tarasenko isn't going to Peoria. And with everyone starting the year healthy the following wingers would be under contract (assuming the RFAs aren't poached for some odd reason in a CBA year):

1. McDonald
2. Perron (RFA)
3. Steen
4. Oshie (RFA)
5. Tarasenko
6. Stewart (RFA)
7. Schwartz
8. Sobotka
9. D'Agostini
10. Crombeen
11. Reaves

Like I said, they could shift one of these guys to center, they could sign someone or trade from their winger depth for a center and until that happens, it's unclear what role Schwartz will play. He could be in Peoria as the first skill callup or he could make the team out of camp and play a regular role. We'll know a ton more in 4-5 weeks.

This is good for the NHL. A young Russian plays on a ELC over big money in Russia. But as most Rangers fans I wanted him bad as #10

With the Tank, the Blues will be challenging for the Presidents cup again in 2012/2013

This certainly is the move that we were waiting for. It will be interesting to see if the Blues do end up moving a winger. The draft and UFA just a bit more interesting imo.

I'm pretty sure he's staying in Russia for two more years.

He turned down a 2 year, $10 million contract apparently. I can see him coming over.

Tarasenko is a hard worker like Oshie and Backes. I think he will learn a few things like playing a strong 2 way game from watching Oshie, Backes and Steen, plus being in Hitch's system. His all around game will rise being on the Blues. The Blues have to be an attractive destination for FA's with all their young talent.

Blues are going to be scary. This seasons performance could be a yearly occurrence.
