The New York Rangers have signed Marek Hrivik to a contract. I have no knowledge of him.

I would love for Hartley to coach the habs, he is a pure bush league coach. Pat Quinn thinks so too with this quote:

"Hartley's always had the reputation of being a bush-league coach and his true colours came out tonight,"

Anyone else hate the way Bettman talks during press conferences? It annoys me.

A good goalie also helps.

Both goalies were unbelievable tonight. There were funny bounces that could have gone either way. Just happy that a legitimate goal was the decider.

I'm cheering for Jersey, but really, I see the Kings running away with this series. NJ might make it interesting, but losing the first two at home usually spells disaster. Cheers, to the least interesting cup final I've witnessed in a long time.

Hartley doesn't believe in the code, where if your skilled players become targets for their non skilled ones, you send your non skilled ones to combat theirs. Instead, he embraces his version of the cold war derived MAD strategy and goes after their skilled players. That inflames the situation further, but it gets the message across: any victory against me using that strategy will be a pyrrhic one.

Boston thinks a cap floor team is going to acquire Thomas to help gain cap space. Is it just me, or does anyone think this would NEVER happen.

Why not take a chance on a Komisarek type player/contract who could actually provide value?

Is there any owner who would sign off on this?

Couldn't they trade for him then suspend him? So they don't have to pay him but his cap hit still counts. Might raise a few eyebrows though.

Thomas takes to Facebook like a 14 yr old girl...wow...

It seems as though this could be a family related decision, to leave the Bruins, but to announce it on facebook???

What's wrong with announcing it on Facebook? He gets more than 140 characters to say what he wants and there's a large audience. It is apparently because of his (impending) divorce.

That's what I thought, which begs the question, can't the Bruins just suspend him?

And assuming they do, the cap hit counts, and they don't pay him?

I just don't see any teams doing the Bruins any favours.

They can suspend him too but the cap hit still counts which for a cap team like the Bruins is a big problem. The Bruins are going to have to give up alot to get him off their roster unless a team is basically stuck and doesn't have actual money to reach the cap floor and needs a player, which I don't really see happening but is possible.

Why wouldn't a team take some one who will play? The worst that happens, is that they suck? Instead of just wasting space on nobody. Plus, who wants to help out former Stanley Cup champs and give them MORE cap relief? They have Savard coming off the books next year anyways with his LTIR

A team would take him who doesn't want to pay the cash, but wants the cap hit.
