Well lets put it this way, This is burke's 5th season, and his job is on the line.
Would u want,
A - Harding
B - Lindback
C - Luongo
Pretty clear, he NEEDS to make the playoffs this year, its luongo or bust for burke.
I take my chances with Lindback or Harding. I would take Luongo in a heartbeat if it wasnt for his horrible contract. You dont make a knee-jerk react to get a goalie who can hurt your franchise in the future.
Interesting. Personally I don't believe a word Kypreos says unless someone else reports it, but if true, maybe Burke has something else lined up? But I doubt it's true. It doesn't make sense. Vokoun is probably the one who rejected it when he found out he can go to Pittsburgh too.

This.
Voukon probably quashed the Toronto deal as soon as Pittsburgh showed interest.
Ughhh Burkie better have a good plan. That would have been an excellent deal.
Just for the record Leafs don't even have their own 7th round pick as they traded it away along with Anton Stralman in the pursuit process of attempting to acquire their own 2nd round pick back in order to allow for a Offer sheet possibility for Kessel.
They do however own the NYR's 7th round pick they acquired for Johnny Mitchell, and it would be the 3rd last selection in the 2013 draft had the Leafs made this similar deal as the Pens did.
If its true that Leafs rejected it, than that likely means Vokoun wasn't their Plan A in the first place, with something else in mind instead.

Probably why, yes. Or Pittsburgh might be trying to lighten the load on Fleury during the regular season. Or they might be trading Fleury.. We'll see what happens.
I doubt Vokun signed in Pittsburgh to help lighten Fleury's load.
Reason: Burke didn't want to give any contracts until July 1.
"The Toronto Maple Leafs were one of the teams interested in Vokoun but weren’t willing to commit to a contract prior to July 1. Another team believed to be involved was the Flyers, who like the Penguins are looking for depth in goal behind their No. 1."
This is my concern as well. Its one thing to have faith in your players, but its another thing to over evaluate talent.
I doubt he makes that mistake again. He did last year and the one before that. I feel like there will be a semi-major shakeup to accommodate the new coach's playing style.

Yeah your right, plus Burke should be feeling like his job isn't quite as secure as it was a year ago.
I'm gonna really try and give Burke the benefit of the doubt and think that Burke had spoken to Vokoun's agent and it was clear Vokoun had no interest in Toronto. If Vokoun was willing, I need to believe Burke would have made the move.
Depending on what is in the works it makes sense, but if Burke declined just for the sake of not making a trade I am starting to think he needs to get fired. Vokoun and Luongo were the only two options. Harding, Bernier, Lindback are not proven enough, why not just go with our own guys?! We need a goalie and if this was just for the sake of no trade Burke clearly needs a reality check.
Vokoun signs a deal right after getting traded to the Pens.
Perhaps Burke just knew that Vokoun was signing with the Pens and trading a 7th to have him go sign with the Pens July 1st would have been a waste of time.

you have no clue what goes on behind the scenes. The only information you get is though mainstream outlets and you form an opinion based on that? Let the offseason unfold, then judge whether Burke has made the appropriate changes to make this a playoff team
