you not think he will need the same work Ekholm needs as far as playing on the smaller rink?

well now that laakso is gone, you could fill in ekholm.

but you have to think we have at least weber, josi, klein, suter/gill ...

imo that leaves 2 spots for ellis / boullion / hillen / jarvinen (from reports) / ekholm

i don't see ekholm making it next season.. him or blum could be traded. one would think

i had laakso over ekholm for next season. i always thought laakso really wanted to make it in the NHL. ekholm will have to get acclimated real quick and jump over a couple of guys.. this jarvinen guy sounds like a 3rd pairing guy so that may take another slot. but honestly I dont know squat about this guy

He's played on a smaller rink than Ekholm since he played in SM-liiga; a less technical/tactical but more intense and hard-hitting league.

does either Jarvinen or Ekholm make the Preds

is Ekholm still restricted by that Swedish transfer agreement, where you can't send him to the AHL, you have to send him back to the SEL

I'm pretty sure Ekholm has already decided to play in NA next year. It's possible he makes the team as a 7th D. I guess it depends on moves Poile makes (or doesn't make), and how he and Blum look in camp.

Reports were that the SEL out clause was only good for last year. This year he will play in north america by all reports.

Both are scheduled to start the season in Milwaukee (AHL), but could win a spot in training camp with a strong performance. Neither however is expected to start at the NHL level.

Ekholm's SEL team held a recall clause only in the first year of his ELC. They do not have that right this season. Only the Predators and Ekholm can decide where he plays from now on...
