The thought of getting the Leafs 2012 1st rd pick+Kessels+Gardiner and Reimer might be interresting.

No way does Burkie make a trade like that. He'd be crucified.

I've been lurking this thread for a while now waiting to see Kari's name come up. He is an elite goalie and gets overlooked by most NHL media. Anyways, to your point, I highly doubt it's Kari. It's inevitable that Jack Campbell becomes the starting goalie in Dallas, but he needs a full year down in Austin to develop. Trading Kari would open a huge hole in the Stars system. Bachman has proven to be a great backup goalie, but I'm sure GMJN knows that rushing Campbell to the NHL to create a Campbell/Bachman tandem is not a good idea.

Oh i agree.Thats just what it would take to get Price from the Habs to the Leafs.
Would need a huge overpayment to get Price.
Doesn't really matter as Price isn't being moved.

Agree with you. As much as Toronto fans would love Price, they'd make HFBoards quite the interesting place with their critiques of Burkie after he pulled the trigger on that trade.

Off topic question, is Carey Offer sheet capable?
A team like CBJ would be a good candidate to do something like that, with the cap space and need, I think Carey between their pipe could get them close depending on how the rest of the Central turns out

We could match or get compensated quite well like their 2nd rd pick this season and their next 3-4 1st rd picks down the road.

This years draft would be already over before the free agency period starts (July 1st) so their 2nd overall pick this year wouldn't be in play..

So CBJ has him, and no one else, and they're still a lottery team.

That would be an...interesting...move by Howson.

If we assume for a second he's correct (which we won't), Carey Price being traded would probably be the only goalie trade that would "wow" me.

/Aside from goalies still in the playoffs.

Holy ****, Tampa actually could offer up something decent for Price. That'd be nuts.

MAF or Kari Lehtonen would make me say wow.
But I agree.

And I don't think CBJ would be a lottery team, I think they'd be 12th to 9th in the West. With Carey tho

That's fine, because Price isn't worth what you suggested before. Not even close.

I know that, you know that ,everyone knows that. But thats what it would take if you guys are trying to get him from us.The only way the Habs trade Price is for a huge overpayment in other words a lot more than he's worth.

Could it be...

MARC-ANDRE FLEURY?!

At least that was the first thing I thought when I saw the Vokoun trade.

I kind of doubt signing Vokoun is actually to trade MAF, but this is HFBoards here. Why not have some dramatic, baseless speculation?

I still don't think it would make sense to move Fleury, not right now. Another top goalie would have to be coming back our way. Vokoun isn't capable of playing the entire season and we have no goalie depth in our system

Maybe it was Vokoun that he was talking about. I mean, he did get traded.

If no other goalies get traded he will claim it was Vokoun

He can't, though. He specifically said at the draft.
