Which are 2 huge factors.

Fleury is still very good and a definite upgrade over Crawford.

But regardless of what is offered, realistically, I don't see Fleury being traded...

And if Fleury gets to play behind our DYSFUNCTIONAL MESH of forwards and d-men groups who don't seem to "get it together" in our d-zone .in font of not ready Leddy and our too easily "pushed asround" D=-corps,in front of our often LAZY (but "talented") CORE who prefer the dazlle of attack rather than the HARD WORK of defending--THEN you will find he is not the "SAVIOUR" in net you think he will be--in fact I'd bet he'd be worse than Crawford! Which is saying a lot...

I would rather they go outand sign JOSH HARDING as a UFA:

1. Cap hit willbe less than Fleary..

2. I think he'd stop pucks for is better than Fleury...

3. ONLY once in last 4 seasons did Fleury post a save % above .915...only once in his NHL career was he above .920 ...

4. His playoff save % STINKS over his career!!! LOOK it up..

5. His best season wss 2007/08 where he was spectacular--but NEVER again regained those heights...HIS time passed long ago...His shine has long since lost its lustre..

6. Fleaury played in the EASTERN CONFERENCE--far less travel--so willbe more tired playing lots of games in the Western Conference.

7. AVOID..AVOID..AVOID...

ON THE OTHER HAND --if there is a CRAWFORD +KANE + HJALMARSSON +STALBERG for Fleury +STAAL +ORPIK and a prospect =a 2nd rounder (2013) type "blockbuster" deal--maybe we consider that...THEN if we can sign HARDING as a UFA we can turn around and trade FLEURY to TB or some other sucker team that thinks he still is the cat's meow...

Hasn't Fleury been bad the last 3 times the Pens have been in the playoffs? And this year he was beyond bad. Honestly I'd rather sign Huet off the streets. At least his cap hit would be low.

I would too. And I want nothing to do with either of them.

Yes. He has. But because Pittsburgh won the cup, to some that automatically means he's an amazing goalie...which he is not.

I agree. I just meant that the fact that the team itself won make people assume that the goalie must be brilliant.

Even with age and contract, I'd still prefer Luongo relative to Fleury - but at this point I don't want either of them (Fleury, b/c I don't think he's very good and Luongo b/c of the age/contract thing).

I would love him on the Hawks. I wonder what we would have to give them to get him

Crawford + Hjammer +?? for Fleury +(little value)

He is young, athlethic and has gone deep in the POs twice. Pens D killed him the past 2 years

Just out of curiosity, if the Pens D killed him, what makes you think the Blackhawks D wouldn't?

I'd rather this than the proposal with Saad. I think Saad can make an impact in the Indianhead sweater almost immediately. I do not want him moved.

There's no denying MAF was hung out to dry on some goals, but he let in more than plenty soft goals on pucks you should easily stop.

Fleury is the most overrated player in the League. He's been average his entire career. The fact that he's 27 with about 7 years experience and still being talked about for his 'potential' tells all there is to know about this guy's mental fortitude.

Exactly. Fleury would get killed behind Chicago's D.

Or how about they just wanted a good goaltending tandem going into next season without overworking Fleury?? Does that ever occur to the majority of you?

It's not about Fleury getting too much work. What it's about is having insurance if he keeps faltering.
