I can't say I know anything about any of the prospects in this draft, but hopefully AA can snag a big bat with one of the top picks. The Jays prospect pool is stacked but there isn't really that one plus slugger coming up through the ranks.

I wonder how the new rules are going to play out and how many top picks will end up unsigned?

Pittsburgh now has a big 3 in Taillon, Cole and now Appel. I wonder if we could pry McDonald off them for a bat (which they are badly lacking) maybe a Arencibia for McDonald trade?

Would definately take Giolito at 17 if he's there. If you don't sign him then you can get #18 pick next year in a stronger draft. Either him or McCullers. And I want Gallo at 22.

The Jays gets extra slot money for having an extra pick in the 1st round, right?

Your slot money depends on the number of picks you have and what picks they are.

So the Jays could draft someone at 17 that might have fallen and pay him an over-slot bonus, then take someone projected lower at 22 and pay him under-slot, there would be no penalty for that?

Any good links about how this new hard-slotting system works?

yeah, basically the slot is a combination of the slot cap for each pick signed, but the distribution of that money has no limits. For example, I believe the Jays first 3 picks are slotted at 2M/1.8M/1M respectively, but theoretically, they could pay that first pick 2.8M and then give the other two picks 1M each. However, if say the 2nd (1.8) pick did not sign, you would remove his slot from the total amount the team could spend.

I'm surprised no one is posting team by team picks. I'm currently looking at SI's draft tracker, but its probably behind. Last pick listed is Cecchini to NYM.

Right here. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/draft/...ftlive_app.jsp

I know that there are penalties for over-spending on your draftees, and that there are different levels of punishment depending on how much you go over the limit. What I'm not too sure on is what these punishments are and what the cutoff is for each individual punishment. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Cheers.

That's the lastest pick. White Sox pick hasn't been made yet. About to be, though.

Jays War Room is most likely in TO. They'll have a Rep at the Draft for show. Last year it was Alomar.
