Which D-man would you trade the 1st overall pick for?

Since there is such a debate going on in the trade forum, which, if any, d-man would you trade the 1st overall pick for? I am by no means saying that all or any of the d-men listed are considered fair value.

OEL and Weber are locks. Personally, I'd do it for Subban or McDonagh too.

EDIT: Wow, I totally missed Karlsson. Add him to the locks.

So, um, why is Shattenkirk on here, but not Pietrangelo?

I hadn't heard of anyone that wouldn't do that deal. Strangely, I have heard arguments for some of the others. It's the same reason Keith isn't on the list either.

Agreed. Doughty, Pietrangelo, Karlsson, OEL, and Weber are the only 5 defensemen worthy of #1 pick IMO.

I can't believe Ryan Suter isn't on this list. I know he doesn't have a contract right now, but if he was paid market value, I can't imagine someone wouldn't pay the #1 overall for him.

Anyways, my locks are

Weber
Pietrangelo
Karlsson
Doughty
Letang
Suter

in no particular order. The others I might balk on.

Off hand I'd say Weber, Karlsson, Pietrangelo, Doughty, and OEL.

shattenkirk, gormley and johnson shouldn't be on this list.

i voted:
oel (starting to get attention, fully deserves it)
fowler (criminally underrated, and stupidly has the reputation of being bad defensively. he is the best d-man on his team at age 21. the teams that skipped on him after pick number 4 should be embarrassed.)
weber (don't need to say much)
subban (number one d-man at his age. no-brainer)
mcdonaugh (better than giraradi, he is one of the best d-men in the atlantic)
hedman (outplayed brewer this year, and again, incredibly young).

other than those outstanding d-men, trading a first overall is foolish.

same, OEL is more of a stretch however. He is an absolute stud, but he hasn't been a dominant game breaking force like the others have shown to be

Meant to say Weber Letang and Karlsson, but forgot to check weber's name. That's about it.
