I think we should draft the next Wayne Gretzky.

Very nice video of Subbans interview with Florida, it's always interesting to get a peek at what is getting asked at the interviews. One thing I found particularly interesting, was that the Florida staff obviously made notes about P.K. mentioning that Malcolm was a good track and field sprinter, that was 5 years ago, when Malcolm had just recently transitioned to goalie, but they still added it to their possible future portfolio on him.

Still think Dalton Thrower will be our man.

I want the Canucks to draft him too, but I think he'll get drafted earlier than projected, like what happened with Connor Murphy last year and Dylan McIlrath in 2010.

I'd be happy with him at our spot. Love the spunk and two-way game he'd bring, the fact that he's a local kid is a bonus.

I liked how they mentioned that PK talked for 25 minutes answering one question, lol.

I doubt that we go for Thrower. I think the Canucks have done a great job of adding defensemen in the later rounds and Thrower doesn't have a higher potential than someone like Corrado or McNally (although he plays a different game), so I don't really see them picking any of the guys available in the late 1st because none of them have that 1st pairing potential. To add to that, defensemen take a while to develop so we're far more likely to make use of an ELC of someone like Aberg or Hertl. If we could get that 5th overall then I would want a defenseman there (because of the high potential ceiling) and a forward with our own pick. But that's just me... admittedly, not a huge fan of Thrower, so yeah...

That was pretty neat...

It would be so hard living under the shadow of a charismatic brother like P.K.

You are almost lumped into d-bag territory by being related.

I like Thrower, I think Bieksa-like players are the ones you win with in the grind of the post season.

I like his 'fearless' attitude, that is something clearly lacking on the Canucks right now. I want more guys whose 'eyes light up' when scrums start, then ones who eyes 'show fear' and find a quick way to hide behind an official or jump on the bench.

I just see Thrower really fitting in with the group of guys we have. He plays like Bieksa, which is good for us because Bieksa is our toughest defenseman who plays a pivotal role on our team.

I like Martin Frk a lot, it seems as if he isn't getting a lot of first round consideration. But he's a phenomenal player who plays four inches taller than he is. He's a multi-essential player and I think he's a guy who deserves a serious look for round one.

Frk would be a fun guy to take as a boom or bust player.

He is a good hockey player, and he had a poor season in part due to a concussion that made him miss more than half the season. Same time he is really inconsistent, and has a MAJOR attitude problem lol. He also seems really lazy at times...

I don't know if Gillis takes a gamble on him.

Not sure Tom Wilson will be available but that's who I'd like to draft.

Any particular reason? He has pretty much zero offensive upside, IMO. He tested the best at the combine which means he's already fully grown and doesn't have much maturing left to do. If he can't dominate the juniors at that size, that's not a good reflection on his offensive skill.

I am. The question is, are you? You're going to have to do better than "lol" to convince me he has an attitude problem.

Right. Well you're just going to have to trust me

Martin Frk:

- Poor conditioning
- Lazy
- Takes stupid penalties
- Oozes he doesn't give a **** for long stretches
- Disappears, gets benched

That's the attitude problem I'm talking about. If he can get a handle on some of this stuff he could be a deadly hockey player. Some of that stuff is not really helpful to your team though if he doesn't.

I think we clearly have different definitions of a "MAJOR" attitude problem. That sounds to me like a poorly motivated player who doesn't take his job very seriously. A major attitude problem is what guys like Kyle Beach and Steve Downie have.

Well, whatever you want to call it, he is going to be tough to reign in.

But that's just the thing though. If he backed up any of the cheaper stuff he does on the ice he would be a lot easier to like. He just tries to pretend he is avoiding penalties and scrums, not being very physical while doing something completely unnecessary after the whistle in the next sequence.

We should move up enough to pick up Girgensons. That guy is basically a feisty version of Lars Eller. Great puck possession, great vision and a great shot.

I wouldn't object to rolling the dice on Frk with our 2nd Rounder, but IMO it's a bit of a risk for our 1st. I don't think it's an attitude issue, but he had a pretty severe concussion last year, didn't he?
