Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the first member that'll be aboard the "fire Bergevin" bandwagon.

Hey, he got a high-profile position that many want.
Well. it's his - do something with it and impress me, if not let's see if we can find a way to clone Sammy P

This means there's a lot of good choices at #3. Unfortunately there's a lot of polarization and immaturity surrounding this simple fact.

Keep the pick for sure

Happy with any of Yakupov, Galchenyuk, Forsberg or Grigorenko

#3 + #33 for #1 seems cheap enough to me. Would you agree?

Not sure the Oilers would do it unless they are decided on Murray. I'd rather have 2 players I think we could get a solid one at 33

You have to be flexible. Making up your mind already means you are not putting in your due diligence.

I keep the pick, but I would also be open to offers that may come to you. I dont want to talk about specific players because that's entirely speculative and needs to be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Off topic but:

What knee? Did you watch the combine at all? The guy was 1st in Peak Power Output on the bike. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this demonstrates that his knee is Bionic and not a gamble.

I think we should use it to go get Jarome Ignila.

Just make sure we get an impact forward, ideally a center.

BPA is the norm, but stars are aligned for us to draft for need : couple of good young D on the depth chart, very thin ( and I mean anorexic thin) at forward ! And most the top5 prospect are frwds. So make it happen and don't mess up ! Can't afford a whiff this yr.

I guess a trade COULD be ok if it brought back a young core player ; but all in all, I'd rather we pick the kid we like most

My (admittedly uninformed) sentimental pick is Galchenyuk. Him or Forsberg and I'll be happy. A lot less so if it's Grigo.

Keep the pick and draft the BPA at no.3.

Hopefully one of Galchenyuk and Forsberg.

Good call.

And speaking of the combine, look for Beauvillier to have an incredible season next year. I had to choose between him and Brock McGinn in the mock draft, and if I had known the combine results at the time, I might have chosen differently, believe it or not. I mean, everyone knew he was a good prospect (CHL TP), but one of my knocks on him in previous years was his build/strength and consistency of compete level. Judging by some of his results and obvious attitude toward training, I find that much less of a concern.

My political answer would be to say to do whatever so that when it's all said and done, we are a better team.

Now, the draft is my favorite period of the year, so for that, I'd say keep it and benefit from it.

That...that's not a serious thought, is it?

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't you guys be just a little disappointed if the strict BPA m.o. brought us say Murray at 3, or another Dman ? I would be...

If TT thinks we can't find a forward of our liking at 3 (which would be surprising but still...) then I say trade down or try to trade the pick altogether

For me, I feel any D at 3 or around 3 would be a let down...

Package the pick with someone and trade it to Pittsburgh for J. Staal.

Not sure trading a 3rd overall draft pick AND someone to get a guy that has never scored more than 50 points, is already paid 4m$ and is going to be UFA in a year...

I know Jordan Staal is a good two way forward but the guy we select at 3rd overall is going to be considered a disappointment if he doesn't produce more than Staal. This 3rd overall guy is also not going to be a coveted free agent before nearly a decade of playing with us.

We already have a 2nd line center that can play an all around game in Plekanec. One bad year with the Montreal fans and media breathing down Staal's neck could be enough for him to walk next season as a UFA. Let's draft the #1 center this team has so desperately needed for years, Alex Galchenyuk.

Personally I want Grigorenko. I know there's been question marks but it would be tough to pass up on a player of his caliber.

My honest answer is i am too uneducated to make a guess. Most of us at most may have seen a handful of any one of these players.

Id rather it be a forward and preferably a center. Montreal needs a dominant player at center ice.

Other than that, i am putting my faith in Timmins and just praying Montreal's crappy development doesnt ruin a high pick.

I know it's a new management group, but I'm still not comfortable trading the pick away. To trade up means to bet the farm on Yakupov, and to trade down fills me with the fear of being ripped off for a guy who likely won't help us all that much down the road.

Keep 3rd, take Grigs if he's there, Gally if not. I really, really, really want Grigorenko.

Another
Kovalev or Benoit Pouliot clone. Pass! Galchenyuk, Murray or Dumba are safe at three.
