Because he was terrible at moving the puck out of the zone. He'd always panic and send a blind pass out to anyone no matter the color of their jersey. The only thing he was good for was scoring off his skate into his own net. He wasn't like this back then.
That and he was a free agent who wasn't going to sign.

"Will beats skill when skill doesn't have enough will."
We'll "try"? How about we WILL? Not showing up for Game 3 and saying we'll "try" next time is an insult to their fans. Just like how he acknowledged their pathetic PP after Game 2, and not fixing the problem in Game 3.
Just watched the game. Wow. LA forwards just took over in the second after just being manhandled. Doughty didn't really stick out to me this game, but he didn't have to. Kopitar beasted it and I was able to fist pump in front of my dad, since we bet on every game. Its been nice. I can't tell if New Jersey's PP is terrible, or LA's PK is so awesome. I'm thinking a combination of both, but NJ really can't find open ice. They stick to the boards, even though they get outplayed plenty of times.
I liked this. They didn't seem to zoom in at the wrong times. NBC gets way too cute with their angles and their cuts. They need to keep it simple.
I don't care about production (I assumed it was the same crew anyway); I just think that the presentation of the Stanley Cup really should be on Broadcast television instead of a premium cable channel.
