On that list I see only Luongo, Vokoun and maybe Harding as available. I'd only consider the first two as legitimate starters. Things can always change but I doubt that Kipper or Thomas or Niemi will be on the market this summer.

Even if Brodeur comes back it's still 6 teams after 5 goalies haha. Although if those are the only choices available, I think Edmonton would stick with what they have and they would drop out of the market. Also there wouldn't be an available upgrades over Niemi so San Jose would just keep him and they can both be crossed off (My thoughts, feel free to disagree)

Edit: The goalie market makes it look like someone like Gustavsson may be splitting time with another goalie next season.

Vokoun, after a big injury, pushed out by an emerging talent, for a 9th overall and 2 seconds.

Luongo, Krajicek and a 6th for Bertuzzi, Allen and Auld.

Varlamov for the 11th overall.

Roloson for either Edmonton's 1st or Ty Wishart (when saying he could be a top four guy wasn't met with dismissive laughter).

Toskala for a 1st and 2nd.

Raycroft for Rask.

Halak wasn't too bad IMO.

Lehtonen for Vishnevskiy and a 4th (when Vis was still somewhat valuable...Canucks fans at one point wanted to give Schneider for him just prior to the deadline).

Smith, Jokenin and Halpern for Richards (a potential starter that was still young and "unproven", a 20-20 winger and a shutdown center).

Starting goaltender trades after the cap. I'm making the most of this list I made, I know. I'm not naming names, but there is a steady return rate there.

Ya your right if Brodeur comes back maybe cross off New Jersey. San Jose and Niemi cancel each other out. That leaves Luongo as really only proven starter available.

Call me crazy, but I also think Clemmensen is going to end up a starter next year doing maybe a 60/40 split with the backup. 0.914 save percentage in his last 124 starts over the last 4 seasons. Problem is he is 34 years old and still only has 152 career games under his belt. He tied for 24th among goalies (all those who qualified) in save percentage this past year (0.913). I just think some team is going to take a chance on him, I'm feeling Chicago personally, but what do I know

Oilers don't need a starter untill they know that Dubby can't be one. If anything they trade Habby and bring in another veteran back up to mentor him.
Take Edm off the list.

Couple other potential goalie names who may be available (maybe not as a true #1, but as part of a tandem?):
- Chris Mason
- Ray Emery
- Clemmensen
- Giguere

I have a feeling Irving will be avalible in Calgary he could be a starter or a good back up if a team gives him a chance

I would love to see Chicago offer sheet Schneider to something that Vancouver either wouldn't pay or that would seriously hurt their cap situation. Go big and offer 4 years at $6 million per.

Depending on what the Leafs do, Scrivens may be available as an up and coming back up.

I think he stays personally. Leafs will have their new vet + Reimer in the NHL and I think they will keep Scrivens in the AHL for at least another year because he did have a very nice year down there. If I were the leafs management I would want to see if he can do it again before trading him away (unless someone offers a lot of course).

Sharks aren't looking to replace Niemi by trade. If Niemi is traded, it will be so Greiss and Stalock/Sateri can platoon. We aren't interested in Miller, we aren't interested in Fleury, we aren't interested in Luongo.

If some team wants to through us a late first or a good forward prospect for Niemi, it will be considered. He's not being shopped per se, but I don't think he's even close to untouchable.

Huet and hasek could be back

I dont see Florida needing a golaie at all, Having A good goalie at a mere 1 500 000$ is one of their strength

Huet could be a #01 somewhere at a cheap contract.

I definitively could see Huet In Colombus.

Schneider might very well be available, he would just be by far the most expensive goalie available.

Likely two first rounders + in value.

Thus why many of us Canuck fans have been advocating trading Schneider over Luongo.

I still think Bobrovsky should be on there under the "unproven potential" options.

He did start the majority of games for the Flyers in 2010-2011 as a 22 year-old. He's been inconsistent since, but he's still well within the realm of the in the 1B category--

Mostly, he'll be the cheapest available young, high-upside option.

Perhaps an honorable mention?

Here is a list of teams and goalies available please add more teams/goalies. Somes teams have a starter already, but are rumored to be seeking a replacement.

Teams

1. Toronto

2. Columbus

3. Chicago

4. Edmonton

5. New Jersey

6. San Jose

7. Florida

8. Philadelphia

Goalies

1. Luongo

2. Niemi

Potential Starters Unproven as #1

3. Bernier

4. Bobrovsky

Washed Up/1b Starters

5. Clemmensen

It will be interesting to match up who is going where.

At first glance it appears as though there are more teams needing goalies than #1 goalies available.

Please add to list any missing.

After recent events....Thomas semi-retiring and Vokoun signing with Pitts it sure seems the goalie market has went dry for true #1.

We can now cross off Harding and Lindback now!
seems to me that is you 8 teams in need of a goalie then you should add their goalies to the available goalie list?

Columbus needs more than just some old veteran back-up who's nearing the end of his career. They need someone who's gonna push Mason, maybe even take over the starting role if Mason doesn't step his game up. Harding would've been perfect as would have Lindback. I can only see Bernier or Bobrovsky as an option for them now and it's unfortunately going to cost them. If they sign a veteran back-up, I hope he's ready to play in 50+ games because I have my doubts as to whether Mason's going to get his **** together or not.

I did for San Jose(Niemi), Philadelphia(Bobrovksy), and Florida(Clemmensen).

Vancouver does not need goalie.

New Jerseys going to have at least 1 goalie retire (Hedberg)

I did not put Emery because no team will prob want him as a #1 or 1b. Same thing for Khabibulin.

This is a thread for 1a/1b starters. With your logic L.A. should be on the list if Bernier is available, but they do not need 1a/1b starter.
