No if we do set rosters, after we finish simming the season in NHL 12 we will be doing all the off season stuff on here so you can control it. As we go along the similarities between the real NHL rosters and yours will get more different. We're just using the current rosters as a starting point.

There's a long waiting list and I'm waiting for people to respond for CGY so they're not really available. Anyone wanting in should on me so I can wait list them.

Yeah, that Carey Price is way overpaid. I wouldn't even wait to find out how we're doing the rosters. I'd just buy the sucker out right now.

If your familiar with capgeek.com there is a buyout calculator on there. It's just like real life where it counts against the cap.

I will have the roster thread up later tonight.

Ok cool. Yeah I'm not going to go crazy with it, just making a Scott Gomez joke to kick off the festivities.

Ok, I'm sorry I'm being pulled in like 20 directions at work today so I'm taking everyone serious at their word or misunderstanding the context. Lol sorry.

I just can't believe how quickly this thing blew up. It just filled up last night and I have a waiting list 6-7 people deep. It's pretty crazy right now in here too lol.

I seriously only walked away from HF for 2 hours, I came back and there were only 2 teams left. Yeah man this is pretty big I'm excited.

Plus anything that has to do with GMing a National Hockey League team is definitely something I want in on.

Also, I'm giving the CGY GM until tonight when I get home to answer me back. If he doesn't I'm just going to go to the next person on my waiting list.

Hey everyone. I've been reading for a long time and really love what a lot of people bring to the site.

I was thinking that it was pretty crazy how quickly this filled up. I thought it was a great idea and that's why I jumped on quickly and I'm sure that a bunch of people thought the same thing.

Would it be a terrible idea to setup a 2nd league or maybe even tier the divisions similar to the premier league? Either way it would accommodate all the people who couldn't get in this first league and if you tier the divisions that would prevent people from tanking it to acquire draft picks.

Sorry hit submit by accident...

Continued. An idea, if you wanted to tier it, would work out so that the teams that finish in the bottom 3 in the top tier would leave those teams and take over the top 3 teams in the bottom league and vise-versa. It would be kind of like the teams were "firing" their gm.

I told OB to post this in case anyone wanted to put in their 2 cents.

I told him I couldn't do it in NHL 12 but I'm not sure if there is a limit on fantrax, I'd have to check.

I'm ok with that but maybe not every year? Sometimes GMs are given another chance. Plus, I don't know exactly how the drafting was going to be done but that means those Gms can't stick around to utilize their 1st or 2nd or 3rd round draft picks.

Yea I've learned from past experiences each GM builds their team to fit their identity. It's really hard for another GM to come in because more times then not the new GM doesn't like how the old GM built the team.

They get very possessive with their teams as well lol.

Set rosters works for me, I love me a fantasy draft but they do take an eternity. Some concerns about using NHL 12 as the sim but it would allow us to get going and breeze through seasons quicker.
