OK, tell me how much you spent last year on the hawks, and I'll throw in some TV revenue and opportunity cost. Divide that by 130,000,000. That's how much it's your money.
you're right. All fans should just keep quiet and be lemmings.

opposed to what that matters or makes a lick of difference? Posting disgustingly on a message board changes things?
Just come to the point and realize there's no reason to argue with someone if they disagree with what you think about the team. You an do it, the response to others response to a response.. is the thing that gets out of control here.

So a message board should just be a large group of people who agree with each other? What's the point?

Apparently some people think a message board is supposed to be one big circle jerk. I don't know what brings them to a message board in the first place if they don't think they are a place for discussion and differing viewpoints.

they seem to think that until somebody disagrees lmao

That's honestly what you think I was saying? Or are you just being dense for the joke.
There's a difference between disagreeing and arguing like a preteen. Thinking because someone isn't pissed it's going to make any difference and worth whining over is immature. What is being okay with the direction going to do, nothing, and what is moaning about it going to do, nothing... Unless you wanna reinvest that money into a billboard in hopes of change.
Besides, Message boards are for the spread of information and rumors of a team as much as any matter of arguing viewpoints to no end. Anywho, the higher the cap, the less overpaid some of the Hawks become.
They have no choice but to raise the cap every year.... Players keep making more and more every year.
I said that was the number one fundamental flaw with the cap 5 years ago and no one believed me.
How can you possibly lower the cap???
What is the league going to do??? redistribute players to teams???
This is why the cap is stupid in the first place. When you have 40-50 guys in the league making 5+ and younger stars reaching UFA status who will demand such pay there is no choice but to raise the cap.
Like I said what is the league going to do?? force teams to trade core players to teams that have no desire in spending that kind of money on a player???
The only possible way to keep the cap where it is currently at would be to have some sort of supplemental draft every year for teams who are under the cap floor - where teams that are over the floor are allowed to protect X amount of players and expose the ones they don't want....
That or place a limit on how many players a team can have that have 5+ cap hit...
IMO, they should just get rid of the cap entirely, that or set a cap floor and have no upper limit. Personally I don't like the idea of the NHL forcing a franchise to spend and forcing a franchise not to spend (or purge players)...
The cap and the "new NHL" is really nothing more than socialism and socialism doesn't work - that is why the cap keeps going up...

It's pointless...
The only way the cap stays the same or goes down is if the percentage of the team revenues that goes to the players decreases and increases for the owners based on the new CBA.
The reason why the cap keeps going up is because revenues keep increasing due to the increasing popularity of the NHL and TV contracts, so everyone makes more money.
It's Q who has so much faith in Kruger being ready for #2. Stan thinks that Kane is the best option.
Right, and neither of them are the answer. If Stan would just bring in a legit #2 center, then they might stop trying to cram square pegs in to round holes.

the cap is to promote parity. In uncapped leagues or leagues with soft caps you end up with teams like the Royals who are irrelevant for decades at a time. It can certainly happen in capped leagues too, but its easier for talent to be dispersed in leagues that have hard caps.
Going off the top of my head, Culksinkers probably had the closest one last year, he loved Brunette.
Yes, I even think I had the salary cap number dead on for Brunette. I also really liked Laich. I filled out the bottom-six with guys like Asham and Rupp who didn't come. I also filled in the bottom defense pairing with guys who I though could come for a decent deal like Hejda and Martinek. Hejda got expensive.

I didn't say anything about fans should act. Fans should do whatever makes them most happy (I haven't watched a full baseball game in in nearly years.)
I'm just saying that sports teams don't give a damn about fans' opinions about how the team is managed. They care about fans' money, and in this sense they know the fans better than the fans know themselves.
