I finally had a chance to watch the StL game last night. I pretty much only watched to see how the kids did. Smith & Glennie didn't really look like much, but Dillon was very impressive. I do think that I remember seeing him on the ice for 1 or 2 goals against, but I don't remember those goals being due to huge mistakes on his part.

Anyway.. I was very impressed and a bit disappointed that he just now got a callup. Maybe he was just playing out of his mind last night, but from what I saw he could've had a part in helping this team win some games down the stretch. He looked far better than Pardy or Benn.

I also agree with giving Oleksiak & Nemeth at least a year in the AHL.

I too just got around to watching the Blues game on DVR. Dillon seriously looked amazing. Obviously we don't know how he'll do over a full 82 game season, but I seriously think he's ready to develop his game at the top level.

Gonna be fun to see how he performs in training camp. He looks ready.

Amazes me that he went undrafted twice.

And in future time he could be one of the best defensemen in the NHL.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I like the kid but we should all be happy if he turns into a solid 2nd pairing guy.

There is the possibility he's the next Dan Girardi, but we shouldn't expect it.

Wouldn't go that far. Am happy with what I've seen from him, and he definitely looks ready to make the jump, but not even close to hoping for that out of him.

His draft year he was like 5'8" tall and again the 2nd year he wasn't much bigger. He had a late growth spurt and put on weight which completely changed his game and made him able to physically handle pro sized players.

I want some of what you're having.

I would be thrilled if he became a regular 2nd pairing guy and absolutely ecstatic if he could be a first pairing guy (legit, not just playing there because there are no better options)

I really liked one of the pokechecks he made on a guy while skating backwards, for whatever reason we don't see that much with the Stars. He looks like a very steady guy who makes hard, accurate tape to tape passes. A good DFD. It was the first game I've ever really seen him play in but I'm quite excited about his future with us. He looked quite NHL ready and comfortable. Wish I could say the same for Smith and Glennie but neither of them really made much of a difference. Hopefully over a few more games we see something out of both of them.

Well a guy could dream can he? Maybe not one of the best but pretty damn good. I've watched Dillon when he played in Texas and watch his game when he played in Seattle.

I just think at his age and his playing style he could develop into a top quality defensemen in the future. He is NHL ready and deserves a spot next season.

A lot of talk about Dillon knocking on the proverbial door. Why don't any prospects ring the doorbell?

Souray's spot is basically his I would think as long as he doesn't have a bad training camp. (And as long as a big UFA isn't signed) That'll be a boost to making the team younger and more mobile. Hopefully Souray can use this past season to find another NHL job.

You guys in Tx have a good prospect in Dillon. I think what sets him apart is his ability to keep progressing. As far as I saw in the Dallas-blues game he seem to have adapted pretty well to the pro level

Had the chance to see his last couple of years in Seattle and he kept improving but his last year was crazy. I counted a few games where he played a solid 30 minutes and played well.
