Semin is actually good defensively and better offensively than Radulov.
Radulov is better in the corners and tougher on the puck. Also Vanek-lite in front of the net, while Semin needs to be somewhere where he can snipe them in with room and whatnot.

If he's cheap it's a much better option than anything else available if Semin leaves. Even if he doesn't we still need top 6 forwards and Radulov is one. Radulov would be a good fit for Ovechkin's off wing as well.

Washington should do everything to get him. They have one of the best Russian friendly locker rooms with Ovechkin there. Most other places the Russian guy is the immediate scapegoat any time the team loses.

If some team trades for him, I don't think he'll go to the KHL. I think his problem is with Nashville and it all isn't necessarily about the money. They made their power play, he came back to burn his year off, and now it might've blown up in their face a tad.

If you don't like ELCs you'll really hate the RFA salary limit that is supposed to be proposed at the CBA meetings.

Rangers will give minimal actual 7th and add at least one conditional third, and if miraculously Radulov produces for decent money on a short term deal, only then and in that case, maybe another conditional third.

If a prospect is involved, it might be the sparkplug D Pashnin, who prefers Russia to behind Rangers deep D corps, but is supposed to want to get to NHL at some point; if Preds lose either or both Suter/Weber over next 2 years, they may want to look at more D prospects, just to get some help to partially offset such loss.

Yah, some dinner....And did it knowing he would get punished, in the playoffs, with his team needing him...Great teammate...See ya.

What Shea Weber was far more egregious and should have actually gotten him suspended. The only ones who decided what Radulov did was worthy of suspension were Nashville who decided it's better to make a point and be control freaks than put the best players on the team on the ice.

Seriously though, looks like we won't get much. IMO, if he re-signs, he could be a steal.

I'd send Matt Carle's rights straight up for Radulov's.

Then we'll sign Semin and draft one of Gal or Grig.

He broke the contract that he agreed to in the first place...regardless of what you think of making the NHL a financially viable league.

He signed it, he knew the details and he broke it.

Even you can't argue that...unless you have as little ethics as he does.

Yeah that's DOA unless the GMs are trying their best for a lockout.

I would never do that.

I would rather give up a 5th rounder... 4th rounder tops and a low level prospect such as Avtsin or such.

The 4th rounder conditional if Radulov signs.

Gionta - Plekanec - Radulov

That should be interesting.

I still haven't understood why the Preds did Radulov a favor by letting him play the couple games to end his contract? Someone care to explain? (Just to have a better chance at the cup...?) It was so obvious that he wouldn't re-sign with them.

If he could be had for something like an average prospect or mid-round pick, I could definitely see the Jets being interest.

A year ago a lot of people were applying the same stereotypes to Zherdev, but the Jets still went at him in free agency before he ultimately decided to sign in the KHL. Speculation was that Claude Noel was the one pushing for it, since he had experience coaching him in Columbus, just like he coached Radulov in Milwaukee.

Pens won't have the cap to sign him. Staal and Crosby are entering their final year, that will be priority. Only way it happens if they do decide to deal Staal.

I think thats unlikely.

If thats the best offer, I bet they keep his rights.. Why bother?

It will likely be prospect + conditional pick(s) on him resigning IF they move him.

Disappointing, no doubt, but it must be difficult to turn down that much money.
Actually the last rumor I heard was Tarasenko turned down 5m a year. So its actually worse in that way. Although I dont blame anybody for playing where they want to. Sucks for Nashville fans.

I would give a 2nd in 2012 and a 3rd in 2013 for Radulov.

He's not going to break the bank and he would add some good talent to the top 6.

A solid player, although a bit eccentric

Not to pile on, but what a failed experiment that was. Too bad, though. If Radulov had a head on his shoulders he would have been a key addition to an already great looking Predators team.

Rinne, Suter, Weber, Radulov (with a head on his shoulders and good attitude) = a sick core.
