Not to sound too ridiculous, but he might be a good guy to have for a couple years while we're reloading. Someone else might come in to take us to the next step. It could be worse....I.e. Roy (as much as I love him...he's not ready)

Until we get our awful contracts off the books it's all a wash anyway so may as well lose the right way with glorious lord Therrien.

Few comments from pens fans made me a bit more optimistic.
If he ends up sucking, he will be easy to boot so i'm not to worried. More worried about the pool of talent that is available for the habs coaching for the foreseeable future; having to choose between Crawford and Therrien seems kind of off. Kind of hoping for Julien to get the boot in Bos soon and come back to the habs.

My favorite quote regarding Therrien:

One prominent unrestricted free agent I’ve spoken with since regular-season’s end could be a nice fit in Montreal at a decent price and would fill a Habs need.

But then I floated the name of Therrien among potential Canadiens coaches, a suggestion that drew 30 seconds of stone-cold silence. Finally:

“If that happens,” he said, “I’ve got 29 teams I can play for.”

http://www.montrealgazette.com/sport...#ixzz1wy89go1H

Awesome. He's already alienated players who aren't even on the team. This is going to be a difficult 2 years until he gets fired for a real coach. So disappointed. FML.

I can't believe this actually happened! So much for hiring the best person for the job. It was always the best FRENCH person for the job. No one else was even considered seriously if this baboon got the gig.

FRENCH FRECNH FRENCH **** all the time........this team will not win a cup again until they stop succumbing to the stupid french media and french populations protests!

Un freaking real!

I think as many said here today , the UFA of the NHL and Hall Gill need to give Therrien a chance, he might have changed...

I'd laugh so hard if the player in question was PA Parenteau. Dramatic Irony? Or Poetic Justice? Depends on if you're in the political camp or not.

Jokes aside, it sucks to hear things like this even if this player is Sean Avery.

I still can't believe Therrien has worse career puck possession numbers when he coached the Crosby and Malkin Pittsburgh Penguins than Carbo does.

How is that possible?

Just think how many players Martin got rid of in 2 years...
now imagine Mr I'mgoonabootyourknutsoff when he get's ready to shape the team .
He(MT) is already on record on TV hating on PK SUBBAN.....whatever he said today was smoke...
PK Subban to Chicago , will know it's for real then eh?Chicago could be the new Dallas.

This is where, I'm afraid, our new GM made a mistake: he hired a guy that certainly won't help him fetch new UFAs.

I can just imagine the texting that went crazy between the players. I suspect Markov got the bulk of it.
