Very unpredictable yes, but some things you put just won't happen. Reinhart 4th, for one. Grigorenko 10th for another. Unlikely Minnesota takes Teravainen. Matheson 23rd.

Gaunce at 8 is wacky, especially with Grigorenko and Faksa still on the board.

Craig Button had Reinhart at 4 after the Combine, but that's probably just Button being Button...

So, you think the Isles will take Rielly at #4 but there is NO chance the Isles take Reinhart at #4. Interesting....

The Isles can take any one of Murray, Dumba, Rielly , Reinhart at #4. Including a forward....Forsberg etc. Who knows what Garth will do....

You said Dumba would be the BPA in your mock but for the Isles it would be redundant so you chose Rielly?? Always take BPA. I hope Murray is still there .....

I just can't see it. Reinhart is all size no physicality. Unless he can work those problems out, he's got no more upside than Hamonic. I mean sure they COULD...but in my eyes I see them going with Rielly, Dumba, Murray, or even Trouba (though that one is unlikely too) before Reinhart.

Also I never said no chance did I?

I agree that the Isles would take those guys before Reinhart but nothing in a nhl draft is definite...

And you said "just won't happen" Reinhart going 4th. Just like I think Rielly going before Dumba at #4 " just won't happen". You take BPA. ALWAYS !

But who knows for sure what will happen on draft night..

Murray going to Cbj will be the worst thing for the kid. There player developing is awful and IMO he's going to need some great coaching to try and live up to a top 5 pick.

I can't see Ottawa passing on local kid Cody Ceci for Olli Maatta.

If Ceci was off the board sure but if he is still there we take him for sure.

Those two picks should probably be switched. Ottawa's targeting Ceci, Washington's targeting Määttä. Seems pretty decent.

I like these drafts with Slater Koekkoek making it to the second. Would be stoked if Oilers got him with the 31 pick.

Anyone going to CBJ is most likely the worst thing for the kid, Murray however is the best thing for CBJ.

A few things.. This draft is highly unpredictable as previously mentioned therefore it is difficult for one to say "this will never happen" or "no way player X falls that far". One only needs to go back to the Fowler/Gormley draft for evidence of this.

Re: Grigorenko. I think his playoff performance coupled with the Russian factor may make him fall slightly and Yzerman has proven in recent drafts that he is not afraid to select a Russian(s).

Maata/Ceci... A coin flip IMO. Although Ceci does play in Murrays backyard so that may come into play. Tim Murray(asst Gen. Manager) has done great things the past few drafts so no doubt he will be making the call on this one.

Everyone knows Grigorenko was playing with mono in the playoffs...he still has it too. When teens get mono they don't even let them go to school. You can hardly discredit his playoff "performance" from Grigorenko and I doubt that NHL teams will.

Who knows...his stock seems to be dropping since Christmas with concerns over work ethic/intensity. Would have been very interesting to sit in on a few of his combine interviews. No doubt teams will be doing their due diligence on Mikhail.

No doubt teams will have a better read on him after the Combine. He is definitely a tough on to place that is for sure.

When you have full blown mono as a teen, you can barely move. I doubt Grigorenko had mono for that long, I wouldnt be suprised that it was fabricated to explain his poor performance.

I dont think Grigs would slip down as far as 10 as someone will gamble on his talent between 5-10. Leafs, Ducks or Jets.

I'm seriously not sure about any of those teams. Burke doesn't like Russians, Murray learned from Burke and we haven't drafted a Russian (or a european for that matter) in the first round since before the lockout, the Jets...okay that's unignorable talent at 9.

Back to the mono thing...yeah you're right about the teen thing, but just watch the combine interviews, Grigorenko is pale as hell and he looks like he's been sick. I don't think it was made up.

First draft I've seen where Grigorenko goes to Tampa, we don't need him but sure as hell will take him at 10. I wish one of the better D fall to 19.

Can't complain with the Leafs grabbing Forsberg. Would love for Burke to gamble on Grigorenko at 5 but doubt he will. Gaunce at 8 scares me, everyone keeps mentioning the Kitchener Rangers factor with Faksa to Carolina. Can't wait for the draft

No way the Flames pass on Ceci and Maatta for Girgensens. We have zero good D prospects now that Brodie is a regular. Both those guys fit the bill. It would have to be one of the high ceiling forwards to pass on the defensemen.
