Columbus adds more scoring to their top 6 and move down three notches where they are still assured at getting the d-man they want. Potential Nash deal will likely give them another top 20 pick this year as well. Pretty decent return for only dropping 3 spots.

Unfortunately most Oilers fans think they should get the equivalent of four 1st round picks for Yukopov, who from what I've heard isn't even a franchise player.

I wouldn't trade the Oilers anything and especially not to the Leafs. Habs will pick 3rd and take one of Galchenyuk, Forsberg or Grigorenko.

Possible but unlikely. I dont think Edmonton would want to take on Phaneuf's contract, they've got Duane(?) Sutter as a pro scout and I'm sure he wouldnt have good things to say about Dion from the Calgary days. Make it Gardiner and probably Schenn instead of Kadri and it would be more likely from the Oilers side but I doubt the Leafs do it.

This. Both Montreal and Toronto are fine drafting where they are. It will take a massive overpayment to get 1st overall, and it isn`t worth it for either team

Agreed.

I do believe a few teams do, and one of them is the Buffalo Sabres.
They are looking to make a move, moving up was one of the lines being bantered about.

Here's another rumour: Rumours about TO and MTL trading up are put out there for every draft.

Oh wait, that's fact. Cheers.

maybe for Toronto but more on a PR basis. But Montreal ATM is looking at this last season as a one-off blip, not something to trigger a rebuild, so take the blue chipper and walk away.

Oilers are in a very enviable position and may even get Columbus to swap their pick with the Oil.

Bottom line. The week leading up to the Draft, and the Draft itself should be fun to watch

If TO wants EDM's 1st Gardiner has to be in the package and then add from there, don't think we are interested in Schenn and Kardi, we are not.

I think EDM would be more interested in Gardiner, Phaneuf is over paid and over rated in TO. You have to remember chances are your 2013 1st will be late so it is not much value.

I am thinking Gardiner, Kuli, 2013 1st, 2012 2nd.

agreed. They also are more interested in Gardiner because they would have even a better chance of Schultz!!

Id honestly give up a lot to get both, Yuk and Gally lol

Leaf fans...come on guys. Just imagine you had the #1 overall pick for just one second.

Tell me what the value would be. Your offers are so out to lunch I almost think it's intentional ignorance.

Just ask yourselves, what are these guys worth?

Alexander Ovechkin
Sidney Crosby
Erik Johnson
Patrick Kane
Steven Stamkos
John Tavares
Taylor Hall
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

All of this speculation is getting me worked up. I just want it to be draft day already.

Their agent needs to keep his mouth closed. Hes driving up the cost of his players and GM's don't like agents that are looking for attention.

Late? Probably mid to late teens at best. More like early teens.

These trades will never happen. Last year Edmonton asked Ottawa for Karlsson to get the first overall pic. Habs will never trade down from 3 to 5 within the division especially since they are guaranteed a stud.

The most likely partner is Columbus but even that is most likely a mistake on thier part this year even if they get a second round out of it.

Defenseman? We want a forward.

Gardiner, Schenn and 2013 1st is the only thing I could see the Oilers interested in.

Oilers need quality defensemen. I can't see a deal happening without Gardiner.

I hope so. Buff wouldn't be willing to give the kind of overpayment 1st overall would require, and would never trade with Burke or the Habs, and they wouldn't trade with us...2nd is possible (Enroth, Armia?) but unlikely. 4th overall seems like the most reasonable target, though I'm not super sure what NYI would want (Leo for a current top 4 D + Pysyk/McNabb?, more forward prospects?) Obviously all of Buffalo's 4 picks in the first 2 rounds would be in play.
