If you have Kruger as the 4th line centre and Hayes as a scratch then why bother carrying them? Surely we could get more dumping them then they'd in the position you've put them in, no?

re: Kruger - i'm a defender of his more than anything else...but i also think we could get more for sending the guy away than we could for keeping him here...i think he has the potential of being a top six guy on a losing team .

If we got Parise, I think there would nearly be a dynasty if Crawford plays semi decent

would make our team that much better - all areas of the team would improve.

We could be the frontrunners if he doesn't want to stay with the Devils. Big Market, beautiful City, enough money and Cup Contender

Just out bid everyone else.

That's what I'd do.

Hopefully whatshisface is a reliable resource. Plus, Parise shouldn't be the guy the Red Wings are going after - it's not Zetterberg or Datsyuk that's retiring, it's Lidstrom, so in all honesty I think with the new cap space they have I think they go hard after Suter and throw Parise through the wind. However, Montador and Frolik would most likely have to go. But with Parise, if Crawford actually shows up, this team could be the team to beat.

There is absolutely no guarantee that the cap goes up next year. It all depends on the % of the players' cost

yeah--even IF the Hawks got him we'd still not win anyrthhing with that D and goaltending...AND Parise is so good that he's such a "difference-maker" against L.A. ---Come on guys -you win as a TEAM -strong in all sections--forwards,D and goalie --NOT as a "CORE" of alleged "stars" who get the big bucks plus a few grunt nobodies to fill out the rest of the roster - he's a nice player BUT I don't think he makes much difference when we already have 4 big bucks "stars" up front..It would reek of imbalence, jealousy etc... I'd rather have a Ladd and BUFF to help the "role" needs over the "star" needs ...The only star we need is a star goalie...MISPLACED idea..

Ditto for adding a SUTER ...though his competency would help oyr D- BUT for the same $$$ or a bit more we could add 2 COMPETENT but not considered"star" veteran D-men to HELP our TEAM ..

You hear the expression--too many cooks spoil the broth--WELL--too many "stars" spoil the TEAM and cause CAP misallocation gaps too wide ON BALANCE to win the CUP with proper team chemistry...

WE do need COMPETENCY --but not more "stars" and the big $$$ they command--you give them those bicks and the COMPACENT cheque cashing disease will infect
this already CORE-stared team even more than the country club laziness Q tolerated last year...

Even if the cap does go up I would not use that money on Parise, don't get me wrong I love him as a player but the Hawks have too many holes elsewhere and could use that money to fix those. Defensive depth and a goalie who could be a #1 is what the Hawks should be looking for not more scoring.

read again what I said.

The Cap will go up FOR SURE. GMs will get a number to work with during the summer until the new CBA will be in place. This will be around september. Until then, the teams work with the Cap that has gone up. When the new CBA starts, there MAY be a roll back with the Salarys and the Cap MAY go down. At first, it will go up
