is that a hint that he will be back??
I would have said yes, but I think winky face negates that.
knowing Sather who knows, i just hope he doesnt undervalue him..i can see him getting some interest for teams that need grit and PK help...Sharks Stars Avs come to mind...as long as he goes to a western team if he doesnt resign here....its his first time as an UFA so hopefully he will do what most players wont do and thats take a paycut.

Yeah if he goes to a team like Pittsburgh or New Jersey, I'm gonna be pretty pissed.
Prust is a good player. I want him back on the 4th line. Good character guy, keeps the room loose. He's just a good, humble person regardless if he was hockey player or a 9-5 employee. That's the kind of guy he is.
I hope he stays. He's a warrior of a player. Just goes out there, goes about his business, and plays his ass off every game regardless of injuries. That's my kind of player.
No need for him to give us a discount...I hope we bring him back at a fair price. Not sure what that number is, but I hope he gets it and if it turns into a bidding war, we thank him for his service, wish him well, and look elsewhere. Overpaying 4th liners can be really detrimental.
But there are some risks too with a player like him that is seen as really good in a certain area (attitude), if one team really desires that one ability that the player in question have, before you know it you got a crazy offer on the table to match.
Like, what would Dale Hunter for example give to get Prust on his team??? Before we know it, Prust got like a 10m offer for 4 years on the table when Slats is only offering like 3 years and 6m or whatever.

prust wants to be here. if he gets a ridiculous offer i'm sure he'll take it after some consideration, but he'd give up a chunk to stay. he likes it here. these guys gave him a chance and he worked hard. he likes the room and the system benefits him. he'll likely get a small raise and 2 or 3 years and take it. if he doesn't that's fine he's still a respectable dude wherever he goes and it'd be completely understandable. fighters don't have the longest careers. may as well make sure his family is set while he's relatively healthy.
Prust is a great team guy, but let's be realistic, he is a 4th liner who can kill penalties and who will not let teammates be pushed around. Rangers offer should be reflected as such and overpaying for him should not be an option.
