Phoenix Coyotes 2011-2012 Season In Review Discussion Thread

This thread is for all talk about the Coyotes 11-12 season talk for all of the good, bad, and the ugly.

I'll put down some of each.

The Ugly:
Kyle Turris holding out and traded to Ottawa.
The lazy play in the month of March.
Coyotes not showing up until Game 4 of the WCF.

The Bad:
Raffi Torres get suspended 25 games for his hit on Hossa.
LOL's overall play.
BizWussy 2.0

The Good:
Winning our 1st division title.
Winning our 1st playoff series since the move to Phoenix.
Going to our 1st ever WCF and cliniching our 1st ever series on home ice in AZ in the process.

I'd add:

Ugly - Letting up late period/game goals. Not only a problem in the playoffs against Chicago but off the top of my head there were a couple against the Stars and the one against the Rangers with 0.1 left in regulation.

Good - Doan's hat trick game and Whitney's 1000th and 1001st point game.

Good: the new tradition of singing with the national anthem

I agree with the late goals problem. Too many times they played 58 minutes but the other team played 60 minutes.

Boedker taking it to a new level in the playoffs

OEL getting better and better

Vermette's work ethic especially during the playoffs

Where does the disappearance of Biznasty's underwear fit in? Would that be bad or ugly?

I think my favorite moment of the season was the 5-4 comeback shootout victory over the kings. Down 3-0 after 1 period, only to have vrbata score 2 goals, one with a sweet snipe in the top corner, to fuel the comeback. by the end of that game i was jumping up and down like it was the playoffs. good memory.
