Hjalmarsson is paid like a good 2nd pairing defenseman. And he has been a good 2nd pairing defenseman. If you think he's been the problem on the Hawks D then you're looking at the wrong place (hint: the highly paid former Norris Winner/#1 DMan on the Canadian Olympic team's recent struggles or the 21 year old offensive defenseman who has been given tons of ice time are better places to start). Although I do respect the fact that since Hjalmarsson turned 25 today his value just plummeted tremendously

LOL, like I know when his birthday is, it's not like JVR turns 24 tomorrow. His 23rd birthday was actually just in May (I checked), so the 2 years thing stands as is.

If you'd rather trade Keith, I'd bet Philly listens though.

JVR's upside is too high to give up on now unless a team is willing to overpay. The guy had next to 0 PP time for his 1st year and a half and missed a lot of time this season with injuries.

I was just joking about Hjalmarsson now being "old". Keith's not available except for overpayment. He just needs to play better was my point.

Would love to have JVR in EDM, he is a big winger that we could use.

Thoughts?
What a hose job!!! Just a terrible post.

Have you noticed those two forwards that most teams set up a good bit behind the other three forwards? Those are called 'defensemen'. The Oilers should look into that.

No from the Hawks. If the Hawks have one strength, its top six forwards. Stalberg and Saad should be more than enough. No reason to seriously downgrade our d corps just to have an already elite forward unit.

value isn't that bad, but I think the Hawks would have to add a mid level prospect to get it done

The Hawks already have JVR, his name is Bickell.

No need for the guy, he would be floundering on the third line here just like in Philly. Nor I would I give up the Hawks best shot blocker for a guy they could have took first overall, but Tallon chose wisely while Philly got took.

JVR is a big pile of over rated, but, while not reading any of the responces, I would be sure there are a couple, "he hasnt broken out yet" or "power forwards need time to develop" cliched replys to the mix of excuses.

Not interested.
