Just no to Penner. I had that bum on my fantasy team for part of last season. He's just an semi-skilled lummox that plays hard when he feels like it..Total passenger.
I'm 100% for Rads..Personality wise you have to take the good with the bad..All NHL Supermen are not off ice Clark Kents. He's the reckless spirited and highly skilled crazy Russian that could really ignite the old OV. And we probably don't have to give up a roster player for a shot at him. A risk worth taking if the price is right.

I'm all for that, but what leads you to believe he could do what Semin hasn't for Ovy's game?

Not the main thing. Main thing is Radulov is stronger on the puck and in the corners and more physical. And he has an above average game in front of the net as well, screening/deflections/rebounds. Oh, and he can finish. If Johansson could finish Ovechkin's passes both of them would be considered gods here. Not that Semin can't but Semin isn't a particularly good 3rd guy for that line.
So he can be lethal with Ovechkin on the rush, effective when there's a scramble and we need someone in front of the net, and carry the play at least somewhat if it descends into a board battle. If he recovers from his torn meniscus well and plays better than he has this year he could make a killer line with the right linemates.
Not what I meant. What about Radulov is going to IGNITE (as said on BZ's post) Ovechkin? I see nothing to suggest that he will. Ovy usually gets to play with this guy named Backstrom....not a shabby playmaker.
Radulov needs linemates that are good forecheckers to open up space for him. In DC he will get stuck with Marcus Johansson falling in his way after getting sneezed at.
I hope to god we don't get him here to put him with Johansson. Or if we're going to play dump and chase. If we let the puck go at the red line and run after it yeah he's gonna need support. If we actually enter the zone with it on our sticks and attack/work the boards from there he should be fine.
And what ignites Ovechkin is having someone capable of finishing his ****ing passes so he doesn't have a 30 assist drop on the season because all of his tap ins are shanked by ****ing retreads.
I wouldn't say im an expert on the radulov history or know the story that well. But couldn't it be plausible that he just didn't get along with the management of the preds and therefore was a headcase? Or was he known for this sort of thing prior? Sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what a player needs.
