Kenny Florian Officially Retires

Quote:
Kenny Florian Retires

UFC President Dana White announced after the official weigh in event for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 15 Live Finale: "Ellenberger vs. Kampmann" that three-time world title challenger Kenny Florian, who had announced he would make the decision by June, has retired from mixed martial arts competition.

"It's been very hard," said Florian of the decision. "You're identity becomes what you do, so it's been tough."

Florian, 36, is already well into the transition to a post fight career in broadcasting. KenFlo's television efforts include live UFC cable-TV broadcasts and the weekly "UFC Tonight" program on FUEL TV.
Ken Flo Retires
A career cut short. Your elbows were vicious Ken Flo.

Always a guy I liked watching fight. Saw him live once, albeit in probably the most boring fight of his career vs Diego Nunes.

One of the best fighters to never wear the belt.

Ken Flo and those elbows. Good decision.

I don't know if there has ever been a guy who improved so much in a relatively short time. Certainly the most improved TUFer.

He's transitioned smoothly into broadcasting & is one of the best in the gm.

Perhaps one of the greatest non-champions of MMA? Good to see KenFlo transition so well to commentating, he really does have a knack for it.

If only he'd retire from commentating as well.

Definitely one of the greatest to never wear a belt. Sad to see him go. Loved watching him fight but my favourite moment from him was when he wore the Bruins jersey in Vancouver during the Cup finals last year.

For Joe Rogan to wear a Canucks shirt at that weigh-in was treasonous.

12-5 in the UFC, wins against Gomi, Guida, Joe Daddy, Stout, Huerta and Nunes ... the five losses to Maynard, Aldo, Penn, Sherk and Nightmare ... not bad. Not bad at all. Never a super athlete but he has really good technique and is game. I'll remember the bloody mess of the Sherk fight and the absolute ass-whipping he put on Gomi for a long time.

Bas/Quadros is my favourite team but Rogan is very good as well. I'd actually prefer if Florian took over for Goldberg.

Him or Mir, Couture, etc. I just do not like listening to Goldy.
