Radulov + Suter

Hey everyone,

What do you guys think about trading for the rights of suter and radulov. You can lock up suter for 6.5 - 7 million and sign radulov to play with giroux. Let me know what you guys think, and give me some proposals. I would love to get parise, but we might not have the room.

No Radulov. And theres really no need to get Parise. Trade Matt Carle's rights for Ryan Suter's rights.

I think homer might take a risk on radulov, he can produce with G. Maybe for like 4.5 million. He is a risk but could pay off

I think Homer might risk Radulov too, not at that number though. No chance in hell. I'm confident he will try for Parise first though as well. If theres one thing our GM is good at its kicking the tires on whoever the best players are on the market

A 1 year deal close to what Jagr gets is about all I'd be willing to risk. If he wants more he can go play in Russia. He hasn't proven anything over here aside from one year 3 years ago.

The only way I'd consider signing Radulov is if he was Weber's conjoined twin. Then I'd have a local surgeon perform a Radulovectomy.

If Suter >> Carle, then Suter's rights >> Carle's rights. Why on earth would Nashville make that trade?

Radulov would disappear into Center City bar scene and emerge several games later.

Simmonds is definitely not a throw in. I'd rather the condition be on Suter signing or not. The problem with giving Radulov 4 million is what happens if he doesn't buy into Laviolettes system and his a healthy scrath for the majority of the year? He's useless and costing us 4 million in cap space? Injuries are bound to happen our depth does not look so good at that point.

Just curious why you think that. Lavi's system tends to ramp up production, which makes players happier.

I agree, I would rather have radulov at 3.5 so we would have around 800k in cap space. Then we would have to throw in simmonds. I would make sure suter would want to sign here before trading for him.

See Zherdev, Nikolay. If a player doesn't want to forecheck or skate hard every shift Lavi is not going to play him, I'm not saying that Radulov is the same thing as Zherdev but the fact that it happened before worries me. Zherdev put up 16 goals in the year he was here being scratched half the year and playing 4th line minutes for the most part, but because he didn't want to skate hard or play his system.

You are calculating the cap without a bonus cushoin in your above post which there most likely will be one, so you have almost 3 million in cap space on your above lineup, Simmonds is a huge overpayment and not a throw in for a players rights, he's 23 and was essential to our PP last year, he scored 28 goals, he's not going anywhere

So we would have 3 million in cap? I agree that simmonds is key to our pp but now with the signings he is on our 4th line/ 3rd line. I still think you try and move a forward out so we have scoring top 3 lines and a checking 4th line.

First of all Suter said he didn't want to play in Philly. Second of all Simmonds is give or take a 25 goal scorer that only makes 1.75 million and should not be considered a "throw in". Thirdly I'd trade Carle's rights for a bag of pucks... Last but not least Radulov has Zherdev written all over him.

I never said we were trading simmonds, I meant if we cant get suter and radulov for that package you have to include 1 of (Simmonds,MAB,GUS,Manning)

So if Suter doesnt want to play in philly, you think homer kicks the tires after parise and/or radulov???

I'd rather chew on broken glass than see precious cap space wasted on Radulov. He would be Zherdev 2.0.

Radulov comes into a new system, and plays with giroux. Zherdev didnt play with giroux. He was stuck on the 4th line all year and no wonder why he didnt put up points. I think radulov would strive in our system and he improves our pp and shootouts.

Yes we would have almost 3 mil in cap space. He basically played on the 3rd line this year. Essentially you are removing Jagr and replacing him with Radulov in the line up theres no such thing as too much depth and like I said injuries happen you need depth to compete.

The bolded is what has me hung up you keep saying you have to include one of them, but the difference in value from Simmonds to one of them is astronomical. You could probably get a 1st and maybe even a + with it for Simmonds, you are getting a 3rd at best for any one of the 3 defensemen.

Thats a load of garbage, Suter wants to get paid and wants to win. He can sugar coat it as much as he wants for Preds fans but the writing is on the wall he wants to see what he can get and the teams that can give it to him are the big markets with no internal payroll that have a chance to win now. The rest I agree with
