I know I'll get flamed for this but, as a rookie Henrique already has more memorable goals in big time situations than our current captain does (In a Devil's uniform that is). I really hope Zach doesn't walk in July, but Henrique will be a pretty nice consolation prize if he does.

I believe he was tied for SH points and led in SH assists.
Which is amazing as a rookie. He and Parise really did some good work shorthanded.

So true. Not winning the Calder might help keep his costs down a bit on his next contract too. But not much, if he keeps scoring clutch playoff goals like this.
“Adam Henrique sat in the New Jersey Devils’ locker room with only one thing on his mind Wednesday. “Man, I’m hungry,” Henrique told a team official standing next to him.”

He has more memorable goals than pretty much everyone on our roster. The exceptions being Elias and Sykora, but those were so long ago.
I laughed at all the mustache talk. My devils playoff beard is awesome. I haven't shaved since the middle of the first round. If I stop for more then 5 mintues people start giving me money because they think I am homeless.
Damn, my Isles took the wrong Spitfire back in the 2008 draft....
Not to hijack the thread, but the Islanders didn't take the wrong Spitfire - what they did do is rush him to the NHL. He was fully expected back by GM Warren Rychel and Head Coach Bob Boughner - I think there was actual shock on their parts that he wasn't returned for another year of seasoning.
Back to this thread - I loved watching Henrique here as a Spitfire, and have adopted a second favourite team since he is now a Devil. That, plus my daughter has informed me that someday he will be my son-in-law! (wishful thinking on her part!)
@Steve_Dangle
There are 32 players from the 2008 draft who were picked before Adam Henrique and haven't played a game yet.
@Steve_Dangle
So 39.5% of the players taken before Adam Henrique haven't played on NHL game yet.
Not to mention we got an elite pick out of that draft too! That's what makes me happy considering our first round pick will probably be a bust. Yes I can't stand Tedenby, and think he will be a bust in my opinion. Get over it.

Couldn't agree more about rushing Bailey, and Rychel didn't hide the fact he thought the Isles would return him.
Good luck to your daughter on the marriage proposal, she obvioiusly has good taste in hockey players

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Zach is great but for some reason he is not really shining during playoffs. Plus Henrique is center which I think is most important position.
Henrique is without a doubt our best defensive forward right now. He's a +10 this playoffs. I don't pay too much attention to plus minus on forwards, but that's impressive. Kovy, Parise, Elias, and Zajac are all in the minus. 4th line are +5, Poni is a +7, and Clarkson surprisingly a +8.
I always feel confident with Henrique on the ice on our own zone too.
I haven't been this impressed with a Devils rookie since Zajac. I think I am even more impressed with Henrique than Zajac, and Parise as rookies. If not for the playoffs alone. He doesn't have the faceoff skills Zajac has. He's pretty hit or miss there. Some nights he dominates in the circle other times you wish he wouldn't take so many draws, but he's way better than Patty there. Finally can say we got an ELITE player in a draft post lockout. Larsson should be elite, but he hasn't developed as fast. Josefson is impressive for speed, faceoffs, and defensive play.

You won't get flamed from me!
It's pretty much out there that Henrique excels in big game situations.
Henrique is usually the best player on the ice. Defensively competent too. I always feel a lot more confident with him on the ice in our zone, and even more than Kovy obviously, and even Parise, Zajac, and Elias nowadays. Best defensive forward I think we might have. Poni, and Zubrus are my other favorites in that category. Josefson too is very good defensively.
I wish I could find his hit on Iginla at least. Le sigh.
Not a gif.. but...
I'm repeating myself twice in the same thread, but oh well. It was too awesome.
His Gordie Howe hat trick was the final selling point for me.
He might have had a rough start, but he rarely looked like a rookie.
Sometimes a little snake bitten, and you could see he was overloaded with minutes towards the end of the season. But he's just overall intelligent and consistent on the ice. He still remained a solid player and an offensive threat even during the late season slump.
Our PK was on life support in the playoffs for half the time, but at even strength when I see number 14 on the ice even matched against the oppositions top line I'm always excited, and a little less nervous.
Adam Henrique was on the ice for TWO even strength goals against this playoffs, and they were both way back during the Florida series!
