Someone please invest in Finnish Hockey and football
Investing in finnish football is like decreasing the investment in hockey. A big part of the talent pool is playing both sports for longer than in neighbouring countries.
Wow, Blues roster looks... different. Glad to see Laatikainen back, one of my favorite players, but I'm disappointed to see Varakas and especially Kähkönen leaving.
Will be an interesting season. I still hope we sign an interesting name or two, but perhaps I'm just getting my hopes up too early.
Seems like a good depth signing with potential based on his stats and this clip about him. Will certainly get his chance especially in the practice games.
Some of these may have already been announced elsewhere:
Joel Armia (Assat) to Buffalo (NHL)
Jesse Joensuu (HV 71) to New York Islanders (NHL)
Jyrki Jokipakka (Ilves) to Dallas Stars (NHL)
Riku Helenius (JyP) to Tampa Bay (NHL)
Sami Lepisto (Chicago NHL) to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl
Alexander Selak - released by Chicago to ????
Armia signed the contract but will likely play for Ässät next season. Not sure if I'm forgetting someone but it seems that there'll be 10 Finns moving from Europe to AHL/NHL for next season:
Riku Helenius, Niko Hovinen, Sami Aittokallio, Joonas Järvinen, Sami Vatanen, Jyrki Jokipakka, Jesse Joensuu, Harri Pesonen, Leo Komarov and Mikael Granlund.
Binghamton Senators / Ottawa Senators ---> TPS Turku
Very nice pickup by TPS. AHL league MVP in 10-11 and has produced sick stats over the last 5 or so years. Apparently modest size (5'9, 165 lbs) the reason for him not playing in the NHL. I'm fully expecting ppg+ production from him next year.

Amazing talent. Will be interesting to see how he'll survive by the boards...

For the first time in many years, our situation with the centers looks actually pretty good. However, our D is still absolutely horrible, we need atleast 2 top defenseman before we can even dream about icing our team. One top 2 winger wouldn't hurt either (dreaming about Vahalahti-Locke-Rintanen line here ).

Yep, I'm pretty sure they're still looking for dmen. Vittasmäki - Seppänen - Palmroth - Ristolainen as top-4 is... horrifyingly bad.
