I don't think any player who has had him as a ref would put him in their top 100. He has consistantly been the worst/2nd worst referee at the world championships. Just because he seems to have some powerful contacts doesn't make him good.

Man this Picard kid is a dirty little ****, can't stand the way he plays. Marlies are most likely done today, even without the terrible reffing and dirty play, Norfolk is simply better. Unfortunately this could have been a much better series without all the ********.

Norfolk is basically a 4A team. The way they're going, they could beat some NHL teams consistently. This would be their 70th win in 94 games, and 43 out of 46. Complete destruction. Norfolk coaches should up for some NHL jobs

Toronto pulling the goalie with 9 minutes left for a 2 man advantage.

Wow. Never seen that before.

Hmm, pulled the goalie again down 4-1 without a PP. Norfolk scores.

Game over, series over. Admirals are going to win the Calder Cup.

Woot!

The Marlies know this is a seven game series right? Not seventeen.

It's too bad all of the marlies top 6 was injured. Would have been a different series.

Probably not. I might have given the Marlies one win, but Norfolk would still be celebrating @ Ricoh while Don Cherry eats a huge helping of fresh crow.

Sorry, but the Ads are in a league of their own.

This is probably the most deserving Calder winner in a very, very long time.

Was at the game today and wanted the Admiral's to win so I could see a 2nd calder cup victory.

Admirals outplayed the Marlies but holy **** that was the worst reffing I have ever seen regardless of sport. Scrivens gets knocked down repeatedly. No call. Hitting from behind. No call. Player loses his stick? 2 minutes for slashing. #10 was the ref and he must have hated the Leafs or something because there could have been at least four goalie interference calls against Admiral's. There was none. #10 kept making horrible calls. I have been to dozens and dozens of hockey hockey games and while there is always ref heckling, never have I heard continuous "Ref You Suck" chants. 100% of them were directed to #10 and there were at least 7 of those chants throughout the game.

That ref couldn't even ref houseleague. #35 the linesman wasn't much better but at least he was bad for both sides. On the powerplay, Marlies player is coming in and waits for the puck to be onside. He is easily onside. #35 calls intentional offside, puck drop in Marlies zone. Hamilton pushes off Marlies net, puck drop outside of zone (#35 made the call but unsure if it's linesman's job or not for that one).

Utter embarrassment from #10 and #35. #10 deserves to be kicked out. #35 deserves punishment. Other two refs were fine.

Does not help the Marlies played horrible as well. But you expect somewhat of a standard in the Calder Cup finals for reffing.

Ads deserved it, all the way. Glad I got to see them live this year, although the games in Providence were borefests as I recall which was probably due to the home team.

The Admirals have now won 43 of 46 games. Even if Toronto had all of their players, Norfolk still likely wins. That's not an indictment on the Marlies, Norfolk is just that good.

I've seen it once when Marty McSorley did it when coaching the Falcons in a game vs the IceCats...only he did it trailing 5-0 in the 2nd period.

It didn't work out so well.

This will not be a shock for AHL fans...#10 is Terry Koharski. (the other ref in the game was #48, Graham Skilliter)

The only thing more frightening is that he isn't even the worst Koharski reffing in the league.

He was this season. Jamie is far from good, but he was absolutely better than Terry this season.

By laws??? The heads that be in the league wrote said by laws i'm guessing. They can't tweak them?

Can you name one pro sports league that would have "reset" a game after is was considered "official" due to a misapplication of the rules?

Major League Baseball, actually.

Quote:
Official Rules: 4.00 Starting and Ending a Game
4.19
PROTESTING GAMES.
Each league shall adopt rules governing procedure for protesting a game, when a manager claims that an umpire’s decision is in violation of these rules. No protest shall ever be permitted on judgment decisions by the umpire. In all protested games, the decision of the League President shall be final.
Even if it is held that the protested decision violated the rules, no replay of the game will be ordered unless in the opinion of the League President the violation adversely affected the protesting team’s chances of winning the game.
Rule 4.19 Comment: Whenever a manager protests a game because of alleged misapplication of the rules the protest will not be recognized unless the umpires are notified at the time the play under protest occurs and before the next pitch, play or attempted play. A protest arising on a game-ending play may be filed until 12 noon the following day with the league office.

And probably the most famous example of a successful protest, which overturned a game-ending misapplication of the rules:

Quote:
Pine Tar Incident
The Pine Tar Incident (also known as the Pine Tar Game) was a controversial incident during an American League game played between the Kansas City Royals and New York Yankees on July 24, 1983 at Yankee Stadium in New York City. With his team trailing 4–3 in the top half of the ninth inning, George Brett of the Royals hit a 2-run home run to give his team the lead. However, Yankees manager Billy Martin, who had noticed a large amount of pine tar on Brett's bat, requested that the umpires inspect his bat. The umpires ruled that the amount of pine tar on the bat exceeded the amount allowed by rule, nullified Brett's home run, and called him out. As Brett was the third out in the ninth inning with the home team in the lead, the game ended with a Yankees win.

The Royals protested the game, and American League president Lee MacPhail upheld their protest and ordered that the game be restarted from the point of Brett's home run. The game was restarted on August 18 and officially ended with the Royals winning 5–4.
