Del Zotto is the only piece that's questionable but since our top two LD spots are already taken, it's either DZ plays his off-side, plays on the third pairing or gets traded while is value is incredibly high to acquire an offensive talent that we desperately need.
I'd move Del Zotto also but I doubt if the rest of the league would classify his value to be incredibly high considering the fact that he looked lost in the last 3 games of the playoffs.

I'm not saying a professional isn't expected to block out his personal life when he's on the job...but who knows how his grandmother's passing effected him? I mean for all we know he was very close with her, or it could have been the first grandparent he lost. It's easy for us to criticize, but let's not forget the kid is 21 years old. He probably has limited experience with this. Doubtful that the rest of the league has written a young defenseman off because of a handful of bad games.

He REALLY needs to work on his game. Not just one or two things either.
I'm still wondering what he worked on last off-season because I didn't see any improvements...

I like the kid, don't get me wrong, I'm just calling it like I see it.
6% faceoff increase... not huge, but it's a plus.

also 26 to 46 blocked shots.

83 to 137 hits.

20 more points

+6 over last season (14 vs 8)

Quick look at rosters, only three players interested me:

Bobby Ryan, Loui Eriksson, Evander Kane.

Unfortunately, all of them would be difficult to trade for. *sigh*

Thorton could probably use a change of scenery, but were way too soft a team for him...

I like Clowe for this team, great fit. Would love Pavelski, but I think we
could/should work a deal for Clowe.

My offseason wish list is seeing the rangers add some explosive firepower, be Nash, Parise, or a deal for another top 3 wing.

I would also like to see us upgrade players like Anisimov, who although skilled does not fit the mold of this team at all, imo.

for the right player, i'd even upgrade Stepan who i see as good young player, but i'd like to go bigger and more rugged. Including him in a package for J.Staal would be a fantastic move. The rumour is that J.Staal wants out, and he's set to be a UFA next season.

Either this season or next it would be great to unite the staal brothers.

I would love to get Jordan Staal.

We never would, though.

not even as a UFA next season? You think the rumours of him
wanting to leave are fabricated?

San Jose Sharks ‏@SanJoseSharks

PR: #SJSharks acquire rights to D Brad Stuart from @DetroitRedWings for a conditional draft pick in 2014.

Stay away from Nash. Parise is not signing with the Rangers. Trade for Ryan. Get Radulov, Mueller for draft picks.
Ryan - Richards - Gabby (When he is back)
Kreider - Stepan - Cally
Hags - Mueller - Radulov
Rupp - Boyle - Prust.

Probably more that the Rangers shouldn't have much interest in looking at centers.

Brad Stuart will sign with Sharks. We discussed his situation two threads ago. His wife and kids never moved to Detroit with him. She is from SJ and she stayed there while her husband lived in Detroit. He met her when he was a Shark.

Suter for sure. I bet they're also of the opinion that Brendan Smith is ready to take on a bigger role on the team.

The Wings acquired Quincy for their #1 as insurance for Stuart leaving. They knew Stuart was going to leave. They have 5 veteran D with Kronwall,Ericsson,Quincy,White and Kindl. Suter would give them six. They like veteran defensemen.

What are the negotiating rights to player worth? A 3rd(Hamhuis) or a 4th(Ehrhoff) for a top player. Radulov is essentially a group III because Nashville doesn't him back and he wants no part of playing for them. He goes to the KHL and plays two years there before he comes back as a group III in 2014. He play for Russia at Sochi in 2014 and all of the stuff that comes with that. Other group IIs in Radulov's situation don't have the KHL as a lucrative fallback option.

Is Peter Mueller in the same group?
