Same with Burns, but look what we gave up for him...
And why would we sell him for scraps because he "could walk in 1 year" when we can just keep him and re-sign him? He's one of our best defenseman.
Boyle -Stuart
Burns- Murray
Vandermeer- Demers
Tbh i dont know your exact Defensive lineups but that looks solid too me.. so if "one year of vlasic" could get you a 10th overall pick who has size and could fit in your top 6 with some of your players aging and on top of that a 32nd overall pick.. i dont see how that could hurt your team.
The only way that this trade is considered is if the brass feels like Vlasic will not re-sign and will test the market. If so, you do this trade. If not, you work to sign him and you play him with Burns like how it worked last year the first half.

This.
Vlasic is a guy I want to build around, so I sure hope the Sharks don't deal him unless he wants out.
Perron for Pickles eh? That's veryyyyyyyyyy tempting >_>
Some of them were against it, but a couple recognized Pickles' ability. The point is that I asked for Oshie and they didn't laugh. Pickles is a valuable player. He's a 25 year old #2 defenseman. We'd need a top-6 and potentially top-3 winger of about the same age.

Chances are that we won't have to worry about dangling Pickles for a trade. I don't see why he'd want to sign somewhere else. As long as DW continues to be generous with his contracts, Vlasic should be staying. I would only entertain the idea of trading him if he has some reason to depart via free agency.

Precisely. I'd hope to see an extension for Vlasic in August-October this year like we saw with Burns and Couture last season and Jumbo the season before.

Vlasic has a lot of value as he should. Oshie or Perron would be a fantastic return for him if we ever decide to go that route.
im just saying... if you guys might not be able to re-sign him its not that bad of a deal.. not like hes helped you win anything but the "regular season champs trophy" the last couple years.
I wouldn't trade pickles for anything. I don't see this team having much of a leg to stand on once his contract expiers anyway. I'm somewhat in an "all in" state of mind

The team's accomplishments don't reflect individual value completely or even in the majority.

He won't go anywhere unless he says he doesn't want to sign. And even then, we'd get better return than that.
And yeah, it's all Vlasic's fault that the Sharks haven't won a Cup, obviously Paajarvi and a 2nd round pick instead of a top-10 defensive defenseman in the league will put us over the edge.
