Howard Eskin on Sports Final NBC10 is reporting that JVR is holding up a trade that holmgren has set up due to a torn labrum. Apparently JVR is putting off the necessary surgery for this injury so he can avoid a potential trade.

JVR has made it clear earlier this year with all of the trade speculation that if he was dealt than he'll move on because as much as he loves philadelphia, it's a business.

I'm not sure if I can believe this but it was reported so I figured I'd throw it on here for anyone who missed the segment.
Howard Eskin also broke the news for the Carter and Richards trades last summer right before they happened...

[UPDATE]
This held up trade is apparently to acquire winger, Rick Nash from CBJ.

Sounds like crap to me, but just for giggles who would be interested and what would Philly be looking for as a return?

Wait doesn't he have a NTC starting in a year as well? Why do people sign long term with Philly if this is the way they are treated. (if true)

He doesn't have a NTC, and I wish I could figure out homers idea of signing players long term then trading them. I can't complain for his ballsy past offseason with the moves he made and them actually working out pretty well but still, it's not going to be good if he keeps trading players after resigning them

He doesn't I thought he had a NTC when the new contract started either way why would players take puy cuts to sign long term in Philly if Homer trades them all the time.

Checked he does it starts in 2016-2017.

It's the combination of a cap that keeps going up, having cost certainty, and having a boss who wants you to do everything (i.e., acquire anyone deemed useful) to win.

If JVR gets traded to some bottom feeder team I will have even less respect for Paul Holmgren then I do now, and that took a serious hit last summer.

for Luke Schenn.

I'd say the value is even. Solid trade for both teams.

Why would Howson deal with Philly anymore unless he is getting everything he demands?

No the NTC doesn't kick in until 2016-2017

Also Eskin said the Flyers were looking to trade Richards and Carter last year, also for Bryz I believe too. He has sources with in the organization. When he usually says something it is legit.

JVR
BOB
1st
Mez

for

Nash
Moore

I can dream!!!!!

Flyers coveted Nash during his draft year.

There were rumors of the Flyers being interested this past season in acquiring Nash.

He would be the perfect winger for Giroux.

I'll definitely be disappointed if JVR goes, but I trust Homer enough to get a massive return while filling a hole in the lineup.

No thanks. JVR is already worth more than Schenn. Toronto wins this easily. Luke Schenn for Luongo and VAN's 2nd? That is robbery.

VAN gets: JVR and TOR's 2nd
TOR gets: Luongo
PHI gets: L.Schenn and Raymond

VAN gives up: Luongo and Raymond
TOR gives up: L. Schenn and 2012 2nd rounder
PHI gives up: JVR

Everyone makes out.
And we were all getting along so well, Leafs fans were confused by the lack of bickering and fanbase bashing.

Yeah, definitely. It looks like theirs a good chance jagrs coming back to philly for another year.

Nash - Giroux - Jagr

that sounds amazing.

I trust homer to get rid of JVR wisely for a good return, if he is trying to trade JVR.

Why would they trade Nash for JVR+ who has tons of question marks? And more importantly, why would you want Nash for JVR? I'd rather just keep him and hope he rebounds and turns into what Pacioretty is now rather than acquire an overrated Nash that takes up a ton of cap space and gut your depth.

I honestly don't think this will have any impact on the Flyers signing players. There was multiple reports Homer warned Richards and Carter time and time again to change(change what I don't know) (also he supposedly took them on car rides multiple times If I remember correctly) If a player is a UFA he can easily just say I want a NTC in my deal and get it. Players will always(ALWAYS) go where the money is. It's the business.
