Luckily for coach Sosh that Trumbo is put into the lineup regularly. Did you know that Trumbo would not be in the lineup half of the time at the beginning of the season? Did you know that Trout was not in the lineup at all at the beginning of the season? We're fortunate to have Abreu cut and Wells not in the lineup due to an injury.

But it does seem odd because at the beginning of the season, Santana was pitching awesome, but had no run support. Now that there is run support, he probably relaxes too much so he doesn't have that urgency to keep the team in the game.

What is the timetable for Wells coming back? he has no room in the lineup... a nothing but overpaid backup player.

Oh man if they would have traded Santana in the offseason when his value was high.

Nice to see the team delivering offense.

Oh I know. Sosh certainly has a predisposition towards playing his veterans. I also understand his management of Trumbo at the beginning of the season, it's tough to throw him out there every day, when he's basically a liability everywhere but 1B. However, you just can't leave (or trade) a bat like his out of the lineup, him and Trout are winning ballgames right now, and in the end, that's all that matters.

Santana just is what he is at this point, a pitcher who has the stuff to be an ace, but just doesn't have the mental makeup to be consistent.

Actually, the person that gets hurts the most when Wells returns is Fleet Pete's playing time. Wells' projected return date is around late July. It's 8 - 10 weeks worth of recovery time and then you have to project how long it will take him to rehab.

As for Santana, his value will always be high. He's got the stuff to be an uber-ace but lacks that consistency. Santana has thrown a no-hitter already, just last year, should a pitching staff be able to create some consistency in his game, then they're all for it! This year should be Santana's contract year. Either the Angels re-sign him, or let him get signed (and receive a first round pick), or maybe package him with Wells for very good 3B or C?! Santana is an ace pitcher, but in our lineup he's probably our fourth ace. In all talent, most baseball pundits rate Santana to have a higher ceiling in talent, but, again, it's his lack of consistency that makes him the Angels' fourth ace.

Should Santana and Angels part ways, the Angels do have Garrett Richards waiting in the wings and there are some good free agent pitchers available this off season.

Man, the Angels need to step it up if they want to catch the Rangers. Texas is hot right now. Good thing they get to play the Dodgers again.

Seriously!

Can't wait to get Houston into the division so we get a chance to beat up on them too.

Texas is going to be tough to catch, we will need to beat them soundly in the head to head games. The start really killed the Halos.

Here, here on Houston! LoL

As for playing against Texas, this team has overcome that hump of beating Texas by winning the series in the meeting early June. The Angels couldn't have done that last season and that lead much to a playoff qualification demise. I know the Angels can catch the Rangers and are not afraid of facing them. The only team I'm afraid of for the Angels are the Seattle Mariners. For some reason, they have our number this year like the Rangers had ours last year!

Anyhow, did you see how Trout scored from first base on a single by Hunter?! I was almost afraid that Trout would have caught up to Wilson coming home.

Plus note: Even though our fifth starter, Jerome Williams, is out due to precautionary health reasons, recent call up Garrett Richards has been performing well while in the Bigs and gets to stay up with the team longer. Meaning, there isn't that much of a drop off in quality for our starting five pitcher rotation!

Bad note: We're losing pitchers due to injuries. Middle relief pitcher Hawkins had an odd injury with a broken finger and slowly returned. Weaver's back went out, Williams had an unusual breathing problem, and now southpaw Takahashi was reported to have some stiffness in his hip. Hopefully, the Angels can stay afloat and remain healthy because I don't know if there's anyone with lots of promise right now in the system aside from the 2nd round pick in this year's draft.

Conger update: Since Hammering Hank's demotion back to AAA, in four consecutive games with the Bees he's hitting .333 going 5 for 15 with four runs, two RBI's and five walks. While up with the big team, in five games (mostly sporadic appearances), Hank's line is .231 going 3 for 13 with one RBI and one walk. Hopefully, Hank can remain healthy for the rest of the season in AAA to show the big league officials he needs to play often and consistently for him to produce. Our two starting catchers, Ianetta and Wilson, are batting below .200.

Looks like Texas is going to lose so there's a chance to gain some ground tonight, Santana just needs to show up tonight cause Capuano has been lights out for the Dodgers.

Ha ha ha How very systematic the pattern is with Santana and scoring is. Santana pitches well and the team lacks scoring for him. It's very disheartening for Santana to have a lack of run support once again.

Oriole Park, might be the coolest situated stadium in MLB Have someone broked any windows from the building next to the stadium?

Rangers need some bad period...they look solid strong and hard to catch...

Partial consolation, Mike Napoli has been mediocre to say the least this year, but Texas is looking very strong anyway.

How did this not get a bump with Trout's catch?

I'm glad it happened on the east coast where it'll get some recognition. Even if it was just in Baltimore. He's a legit Gold Glove candidate.

Also, I didn't realize it at first, but Southwest needs to call up Trout for an endorsement.

Mike Trout: "I'm not the only thing flying over most of the U.S. and parts of Canada."

Trout recently qualified for enough at-bats for his batting average to be counted amongst other MLB'ers. Because of this, Trout is now placed at the top of MLB with the best batting average.

Also, we are now ranked as the first wild card spot after beating the O's twice, replacing their spot!

No. No we don't. Our starting pitching will soon all be from Frisco or Round Rock.
