well that was kinda the problem...Carter had one, but due to the CBA it wasn't to kick in until either last July or this...same, I believe, with JvR...his NTC can't kick in for a few more years due to age and RFA rules

I fully believe Philly is trying to trade for Nash, but I'm not buying JVR is holding up surgery so he isn't traded. What player is going to risk his entire career by holding up a surgery so he isn't traded?

Besides, did he actually say he's holding up his surgery so he's not traded, or that he's holding up his surgery and it's delaying a trade. Pretty big difference there.

I think Nash for JVR, Bobrovsky, and a 1st round draft pick would be the basis of the deal. I don't think Schenn would be involved. I don't mind this deal from a Flyers standpoint. I like JVR, but he's been disappointing us for a long time, with his performance in the 2011 playoffs being the only real exception.

Nash - Giroux - Jagr...that would be an awesome line.

Well hopefully Homer can fleece the jackets again, Nash and Giroux would be to sick. Giroux is exactly the player Nash has needed his entire career.

that's why from a CBJ perspective, I need that one more piece...a disappointing JvR, Bob and 1st are close but not enough IMO

with Couturier's breakout, it almost makes Schenn expendable...

I'd imagine the 5th overall pick...and then?
TOR gets:
B Schenn
JVR

PHI gets:
Franson
Kadri
5th overall

Maybe it's to Dallas for Steve Ott + ????

I know the Flyers were wanting Ott last year. Just a thought. Dallas would have to give up more than Ott to get JVR but I know GMJN likes JVR.

I'd love him on Ottawa but I can't think of a good fit. Whats the asking price? I'd assume Cowen would be needed?

Thats exactly what they said about Jeff Carter.

i doubt Philly would trade Couturier or Schenn, maybe Read could be added on?
no idea if Philly does that just guessing

If Howson is striking out with Toronto, NYR, San Jose, then that is likely what it comes down to.

I truly believe Bobrovsky would get lit up like a Christmas tree in Columbus, and am uncertain if JvR acts even a bit more professional than Jeff Carter during his stay in Columbus, assuming that trade would happen. Wouldn't surprise me he is trying to block a trade that would send him to a much weaker team on his current deal.

Yeah, a guy holding up surgery to avoid Columbus sure does look less likely to be butthurt.

P.S.: Not saying the rumor is that believable, but seriously, why is everyone believing the trade part and up in arms about Holmgren, but not the surgery hold up and JVR? This rumor is so much more fun to play with, when you buy into it wholeheartedly.

JvR is already butthurt and its only in preliminary discussions and rumors.

Can't believe Columbus is even considering Philadelphia again, let alone another guy who committed to that team.

Why do I believe this rumor 100%? Oh yeah because its Scott *** Howson at the helm. Another Flyer who doesnt want to come here and Howson is forcing the trade. Ugh...I like Bob, but we better be getting Schenn if Jvr doesnt want to come here. And no way anything is added to Nash...LOL at Moore being added.

Nobody is mad at JVR because he just signed an extension to stay in Philly long term and again Homer decides to reward this loyalty by trading him.

I am all in favor of being mad at Holmgren, I just think both sides provide ample opportunity for a good chuckle here, so why pass it up.

JVR hasn't exactly held up his end of the deal in terms of production (although he hasn't really had a chance considering the injuries this year....).

Or shoulder hurt as there is the acetabular labrum in the hip and the glenoid labrum in the shoulder.

Someone posted on here in late April JVR was getting traded for Schenn. His buddy got to meet the GM and some of the other players including JVR who said he was getting traded. I think the thread was deleted but I saved the pics he posted, though I won't post them unless he gives me permission.

As long as he is not butthurt, he should be good to trade

Columbus added the 2nd-round pick in to facilitate that deal, which prevented anything from being tagged "conditional".
