What about Carriere and Martin?

The guy must be afraid to wake up in the morning so that his mirror may look at him and say "you're fired!"

Nothing against Larry Carriere, I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but I hope he's next.

He's here to stay... Already got a contract extension.

As PB said he just signed a contract extension and won't be going anywhere. I don't know why but he seems to be very high on Molson's list. Maybe he was the one reporting to Molson about Gauthier

He's been a friend of the Molson family for a long time and apparently very respected around the league, for some reason.

So the infamous Perry Pearn was still working for the Habs? Explains everything.. the poor ending to the season, Therrien's hiring...

They obviously fired him a second time to make sure we have a good draft. Firing Pearn is a known ''team boost'' method.

I didn't know he was a friend of the family before this, well it all makes sense now

Poor Perry. He should definitely stay away from Donald Trump's TV show "The Apprentice". He would be the first one fired.

No way. He's a keeper.

The guy is in the organisation since only one year. He has spent half of it at management level and the rest behind the bench where he did not belong.BUT, he learned alot about each and every players and is certainly a reliable source of info for Bergevin and Therrien.

Do you really think they will be able to keep Ovechkin happy with a defensive coach?

I never felt Martin wanted to be as defensive as he was. But the cards he was dealt forced him to be more defensive. I can remember at the beginning of the 2010 - 2011season he said he wanted his d-men to support the rush. But when Markov went down again they were forced to play defensive again. Gill supporting the rush? No defence first.

If you think Martin was bad Hunter was maniacal with defence. Martin was at least able to pull out a few marginal playoff victories as opposed to Hunter's one goal games. And I never thought Martin wanted to take his foot of of the gas as much maybe the players allowed it to happen.

Yes, because his teams in Ottawa we re really strictly defensive teams. With the core the Caps have, if they hire Martin, I don't want the Habs to face them in the playoffs.

If the Habs make the playoffs this time they're most likely to face a division winner, so take your choice of poison. If it's the Bruins they might have a chance because of Thomas's "sabbatical."

@ArponBasu
Jets announce hiring of ex-Habs assistant coach and scout Perry Pearn as assistant coach

He'll be closer to home and he'll have two salaries.

After all, I guess that he shouldn't feel too bad about getting fired twice in the same year.
