By the way, who the hell is kelly chase? Sounds like a porn star or something like that.
he was a blue, whaler, and a leaf. last played in 2000. career: GP-458, G-17, A-36, PTS-53, PIM-2017. i dont know much about him just a quick search seemed like a goon/rough grinder
As Captain, Cally personified what this team was about. Henke was great and he stole some games, though any goalie with that good of a defense in front of him, is going to have a better year. The team doesn't play like they did in front of Henke, without Callahan. There's no stats for leadership so Henke gets the award recognition.

Martin Biron had the exact same team in front of him, and put up the 61st ranked SV%. This is including everyone. Take out like 7 or 8 guys with only 2 or 3 starts and he's in the ~50 range.
Either the team in front of him isn't as good as we are saying, OR, Biron is not that great of a goalie. Take your pick.

Lundqvist has been the MVP of this team more or less since he came into the league regardless of what type of personnel he has had in front of him. I like Callahan but he doesn't come close to Lundqvist in terms of taking over a game and the ability to singlehandedly win games.
There's really only two choices: Hank and Gaborik. And I would have no problem with either winning it. They both deserve it.
Gabby scored approx. 20% of this team's goals.
The Rangers' goal differential was +39. Gabby scored 41. Hard to argue the team would have been anywhere near as successful without that offensive output.

was going to post something similar....if we're talking regular season only that is
i think people are forgetting exactly how dominant gaboirk was through the regular season
(3) Callahan / Girardi (with Girardi potentially in front of Callahan)
Callahan was a distant 3rd during the regular season for our teams success. I know people will hate that I put the Euro Gaborik in front of him, but the bottom line is, when Gaborik's offense wasn't clicking, the team had no offensive catalyst. He carried the teams offense on his back with a 41 goal season and was a huge reason that the Rangers got where they were.
In terms of Callahan being better than Lundqvist.... WOW. That is dumb. Really comes off as dumb. A 25 goal / 50 point two way forward is NEVER better than the top goaltender in the league.
People are giving the Vezina to Quick because he is hot right now and he is the underdog, naturally people want to see him win. We will see it on June 20th, who wins.
