Way less anxious tonight. If the Devils lost on Saturday, I would have had to watch the Kings celebrate right in front of me. That's a hard kick to take...
This.
I mean.....Worst-case scenario : The Kings celebrate with the Cup on their home-ice, not ours. I can deal with that.
BUT MAN.....LET'S WIN THIS GAME TO AT LEAST GET A REAL SHOT AT THE BIG PRIZE!!!

I think it will be very difficult for the Devils to win tonight.
BUT....
If they could somehow force a Game 7.
In New Jersey.
All that "choking" pressure coming down on the Kings?
With Brodeur vs a 26 year old Quick who has NEVER won an elimination game?

I'd really love the Devils chances in that game.
Not to mention this Kings team as a whole has yet to face elimination.
I'm less anxious tonight than I was Game 5. And I was more anxious before Game 4 than I was before Game 5.
Yes. Prior to this series, just making the finals and taking out the Rangers was awesome and playing in the SCF was, as some said, "gravy". I don't think any Devil's fan assumed they would go down 3-0 though. That made simply making the finals feel... not good enough at all. Now we've shown LA that we're not just going to roll over and die. I want the Devils to win this game and the next one but I truly feel like the remaining games are gravy The pressure is on LA. Hopefully Marty & Co. can force LA to travel back to Newark again since the Devils will be heading back there anyway.
That's not to say I won't be on the edge of my seat the entire time or emotionally drained at the end of tonight's game, regardless of outcome.
I definitely think that tonight will be the hardest fought game of the series. The Kings are certainly pissed they had two chances to close this bad boy out and haven't been able to do it, and coming back home to LA they are going to be at their peak.
But the Devils aren't laying down about this and they will fight for every little tiny play tonight, because they simply don't have a choice. This is type of game that will completely drain and wear down a player.

Whereas the Devils are battle tested and undefeated in elimination games. I like our chances if we can win tonight and put them on the brink too.
Also worth noting that the Devils have been as close as a bounce away from elimination - games 5 and 6 against Florida. Still persevered. Everyone has to dig in. Everyone has to play their best game.
Edit: games 6 and 7

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Also, why didn't the media make a big deal about guys like Jim Dowd and Bruce Driver attending the game like they did with Gretzky in LA?
They put their faces on the jumbotron during the game and each got a nice cheer. I just about slammed into Dowd outside the arena with my face in my iphone refreshing stubhub over and over. I looked up just in time to avoid the collision.

One thing I hated was when they were showing their moments on the jumbotron, the game announcer's calls were way too loud. Had a bit of a ring in my ears.
devils didnt play the way i would of liked last game, especially in an elimination game. they need to come out better. we were stuck in our own zone a couple of times during that game. need to get more pressure in the kings end, and get someone to screen quick or at least make a little contact with him when hes playing the puck to get him a little anxious.
Have a bad feeling about this game. Hopefully the Devils don't chase the puck all night in their own end again. Well maybe Greene should start doing that instead of letting the guy walk through the slot.
