But the Devils aren't laying down about this and they will fight for every little tiny play tonight, because they simply don't have a choice. This is type of game that will completely drain and wear down a player.
The polar opposite can happen with the pressure as well. We are fighting to play another game where we would have a legit shot at winning it all.

Our guys are relaxed and having fun, LA's guys are frustrated and holing themselves in in desperation.

I just see each teams' moves as polar opposites. Which tells me that everyone will be coming back east for game on wed.

It's not about the chance you have. It's about the chance you make for yourself.

I actually have a good feeling about this game. We'll see.

Oh, yeah, I agree with this too. I think that the Devils are definitely going to be fighting for the ice, but not in desperation. Good points, for sure.

Claude should have gotten a standing ovation. Pretty baffled that the fans didn't give him one. It must be the young fans and the bandwagon idiots.

The Kings? Holy **** that's crazy talk.

The Devils used to do that, but I just don't see that working with the way the youngin's are going to be on these teams.

Just the way he acted and as he walked away he's like "You guys booed me and now you want pictures?" So, after a few steps, I replied "That's why Ross will always be my favorite friend".

The Devils don't do that anymore, because Parise talked Lou out of it. Maybe it helped, maybe it didn't, but I'm sure the players are happier about it.

Yeah, I was sitting near some young fans and I don't think they really knew who he was. Anybody who was around for '95 owe Claude a debt of gratitude.

Sutter used the lockdown approach the first couple series I believe (moreso with Vancouver).

We'll see if it works. To me, it speaks to concern on Sutter's part about his team's focus perhaps the prior two games. I think you have to be careful to make the team wound too tight though in this instance. I'm sure the Kings will make this a tough game either way.

Can we give Kovy one of those milkshakes they give racehorses before the game so he doesn't realize he's injured anymore?

Eliminating distractions will only work if they focus on the right things. By taking away all those are things to distract you, you might dwell on a negative. Not a good thing.

I love that actually. For NJ.

The idea is to keep the focus on the game, not flip everything you know on its head. What are they doing now besides thinking about this game every other thought away from playing xbox?

Sutter calling his team the underdog team now is hilarious as well. Sounds like he's going down his checklist. With some luck the players will feed off of his panic cause NJ had over 100 points in the regular season.

Ya, there's no way the Kings are or were the underdogs going into this game, or even going into this series. Very transparent attempt to change the narrative once it's already half written.

I have to agree. They were the Underdog against Vancouver and traded that title for Favorites about halfway through the Blues series. I don't think it bodes well for LA that Sutter is falling back on the underdog moniker at this point, not only because almost all the 'experts' picked them to win, but because they still are going home leading the series with a chance to win. I get that he wants to deflect pressure and get his team feeling good, but this one has too much potential to backfire I would think.
