well if he was already on a contract with them there's nothing to stall about. fight for a roster spot on a KHL team or go back to the VHL. easy 'math' right there.

He had not valid contract with Donbass at the moment of draft. Only verbal agreement or so.
Why can not drafted player play for any team outside of KHL?
