Teams really banking on a rollback of salaries.

i'm not saying I'd do this. but I might be tempted to do something if was Schenn Gardiner 5th overall Grabo and Joe Colbourne for Gags and 1st Pecks/Plante

D next year
JS Gardiner
Smid Petry
Shenn NS
Whitney Sutton

forwards

Hall RNH Hemsky/Eberle
Harti Grabo Hemsky/Eberle
Eager/PRV Horcoff Jones/Smyth
UFA Belanger/Colbourne Lander
i don't know its not a bad line up and it shores up our D nicely. But the question is is it worth YAK?

That's weird. No one else (including Kypreos or anyone else from SNet) has reported anything.

Inflation has gotten really bad, CBA expiring... I'm becoming more convinced now that we're in for a long, long summer.

We aren't getting that much for the pick, might as well add Kessel and Bulin to the deal.

I hope it's not a photoshop. Came from main board. Anyone confirm what the Bobcat is actually wearing today?

In that case it wouldn't matter, would it? It'd still take the same percentage from the team's cap, not considering the dollar amount.

As for the Kelly signing: Ouch. 4 million for a guy who has never scored 40 points in the NHL.

And I know Kelly's a defensive, 3rd-line centre but...

Chris Kelly.......97 - 123 - 220 NHL Points in 569 GP
Sam Gagner.....77 - 143 - 220 NHL Points in 366 GP

Worried?

I thought last time they rolled back everyone's salaries?

It'll matter for me if it means no new CBA come September...

Bob McKenzie is reporting that the Kelly deal is actually 4 years, not 3.

So only $3 million per year.

According to Bob Mckenzie SNet must have had the wrong term. Kelly - $12M over 4 years ($3M per).

Still though he has put up very similar career numbers to Eric Belanger and plays a similar game (maybe more physical). Makes Belanger's $1.75M seem not too bad.

The one thing that hasn't happened is cap hit of 10mil. For quite awhile there hasn't been too many guys getting into that 7+mil bracket, but I have to think with Oduya, Jones and maybe Kelly getting what they got that it's only a matter of time before the higher tier guys say piss on this and raise the bar.

Our defence is bad but we were still only 23rd in the league in goals against.

We don't need to be taking scraps from the team that came 29th in the league in goals against.

It would've happened already if not for the 15 year contracts that were being thrown around like candy on Halloween before the over-35 rule.

Leafs offer Schenn for 1st overall

http://www.thescore.com/home/article...-d-luke-schenn

Speculation that the Oilers and Leafs would swap the 1st and 5th picks:

To Edm.
5th overall
Schenn

To Toronto
1st overall

the oilers arent shopping the pick for schenn, its just the leafs inquiring about trading schenn + #5 for the first overall pick.

if tambo does indeed have a brain he wont do this deal.

It doesn't say anywhere in that article that the Oilers are shopping the number 1 pick

Not nearly enough, I'd be pretty upset if that's all we'd get AND the oilers actually went through with it.

Wait... Are the Oilers shopping the number 1 for Schenn or is Burkey shopping Schenn for the first overall???

Big difference and potentially misleading title.
