I'm extremely nervous, but at the same time, in a weird way, I'm really happy too. I'm really proud of these guys and I'm elated that they will have earned the opportunity to actually get a chance to play for the Stanley Cup should they win tonight. That's what game 7 exactly is; a chance for the Stanley Cup. What more can you honestly ask for aside from winning it?
In my mind, they're worthy of it and they deserve it for how hard they fought to get to this point from where they were just 18 months ago. It's been an incredible journey no matter what happens tonight, or possibly on Wednesday.
I'm going to hold out hope that our veteran roster will wind up being the difference, in a good way, when all is said and done. Most of them know this is the last shot for them. They won't let each other down. I have to believe in that till it's proven otherwise. If veteran experience doesn't give you an edge in a situation like this, well I don't know when it ever would, to be honest.
I've been dreaming of games since the end of game 3. EVERY NIGHT, we haven't won in any of them yet, including last night so the trend continues... WE WIN TONIGHT.
Well, here we are again. Will we see a pissed off firing on all cylinders Kings team or a nervous Kings teams? Will the Devils be flat or continue the comeback and play their balls off?
I was thinking long and hard about Salvador's future here. A big part of me wants him to stay. He is a warrior and an excellent role model for our younger players. A small part of me feels like this is him giving it everything he has got since he is getting up there in age and if we keep him he might fall back into what he was. Not that he's a bad player but with youngin's knocking on the door I hope he gets a big contract from another team. He deserves it. He will be missed though.
I think we can win tonight if every line scores at least one goal. Add a Kovy empty netter and we can win 4-2.
Elias-Sykora-Zubrus I want a goal from Zubrus
Parise-Kovy-Zajac I want Parise to continue his streak
Poni-Clarkson-Henri Poni only has the Philly OT winner (he is due)
In 17 straight Stanley Cup Final games the team that scored first has won the game. So I'm thinking the Kings come out tonight like gang busters and make it 1-0 in the first 10 minutes, but the Devils come back to stun the Kings 3-1. The Kings score again to narrow it to 1 and then the empty netter. I just think that streak is due to end, but what happens if the Devils score the first goal?
