If five years ago was 2000-2001, then I'd say it's a tie between Koivu and Theodore. The rest of the team was crap that year. I mean, Juha Lind? come on.

I think your list sucks because your missing all the best players...I`ve went ahead and created my own list

-Andrei Bashkirov
-Barry Richter
-Juha Lind
-Miloslav Guren
-Patrick Poulin
-Christian Laflamme
-Eric Bertrand
-Karl Dykhuis

Holy...that is some major league talent, could have won the cup that year..

I don't care what anyone says; Oleg Petrov was my favourite back then. He was always one of the few Habs who'd show up every night and work his butt off, no matter what.

My god it's nice to see the team we have now compared the stiffs we were stuck with back than. I'm surprised the Habs did as well as they did with that talent.

He didn't play many games that year at all.

I also should've added Patrick Traverse.

Patrick Travesty..yes!! Should have added him to my list as well. No Stanley Cup contender would be complete with his contribution.

I loved Petrov back then! I remember a game against the Flyers when he scored the habs 3 goals in a 5-3 loss to Philly. I swear it was like he was the only player on the ice for the habs that night and the news had it "Oleg Petrov 3 - Flyers 5".

They won a bunch of meaningless games in the 2nd half when the pressure was off and they were playing to save their jobs.

First 30 games of that season we were primed for Kovalchuk or Spezza.

I agree completly. When we lost him it was sad. He's somebody we could use at times this year when we go into our lulls of just not trying. Hard work is contagious and its never bad to have a guy like that. Plus, he was faster than ****.
