That's funny, why would we even want to give our condolences to the Laffs? That attitude even further proves the fact that they think they are the center of the universe.
I dunno about the rest of you, but I'm getting kind of sick about talking about the Leafs. I know it's hard to get them out of our minds, because the Toronto based medias won't allow us to, but let's let the '05-'06 Leafs die a peaceful death. We've jabbed the dead body long enough.

No, no Darz get it right we didn't jab a dead body we're the one's that killed it with scores of 5-1 and 6-2.
This sort of thread is just inviting reciprocity when the Habs are down. Incidentally, it's been a struggle for the Habs to make the playoffs over the last several years, with a number of outright misses.
What a joke. Leafs are where they deserve to be especially the way the team has been put together for the last decade. Let's get back on topic and talk about the amazing Habs run and forget the leafs.
This is a classic example of 'bandwagon' media, if there is such a thing. Are the Leafs considered 'Laughs' only now that that they're not making the playoffs or are they 'Laughs' because they haven't won a cup in 39 years? The author devotes most of the space to the historical element. But if that's the case, where were these articles in 2004, when the Leafs were a middle-of-the-pack playoff team with a 36 year drought? A 36-year drought is only marginally better than a 39-year drought. To fans of the other Canadian teams, the Leafs have been the Laughs for ages, since Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Montreal have all ventured farther than the Leafs since 1967. The media stuck up for Leaf nation in 2004 (and before) because they were too busy convincing the world that the Leafs were going to win. It helps to remember that this article is being published by the same media that worshipped the 36-year-and-counting Leafs in 2004; The same media that eagerly satisified Leaf nation's colossal appetite for self-aggrandizing over the last 10 years. It's the media's natural tendency to create and jump on bandwagons. We'll see if Sportsnet has the integrity to call the leafs 'Laughs' next time the Leafs are in the playoffs and when the rest of the media is already on the parade float.
come on now. How can anybody possibly tire of taking a shot at the leafs and their fans.
I live in SW Ontario and I have to put up with the annual delusion by these guys that there is actually something special about anything they do. If they win 5 in a row it's a dynasty and whoever is in net is the best goalie in the NHL
I always derive a great deal of pleasure asking them: Which happened first?
Leafs win the Cup
Man lands on the moon.
Woodstock
Put the Jack boots to 'em. They'd be running us ragged
When were the Leafs ever considered a Dynasty ? Did Cherry write that article ?
As much as I hate the Leafs... in the 60's they were the dominant team, at least for a while.. 4 cups in 6 years consitutes dynasty like comparrison's.. but that was a long time ago..
