It is a brutal call whoever weberwhatever your name is when, theres a kings penalty right before that and after it and neither gets called, and I don't need a gif when I'm watching the game. He turned. Shouldn't have been a major.

Exactly. Like I said earlier I'm not mad at the 5, but Bernier could do NOTHING considering the speed he came in there with and how close he was when Scuderi turned. It's a fast game and no chance could he let up.

Analysts throughout the year have actually commented on this EXACT situation. Scuderi can't put himself in a vulnerable position like that.

Bernier committed to the hit when scuderi's side was facing him.

Bernier was pissed from the Gionta hit. HE CAN SEE THE NUMBERS IN THAT SCREENSHOT. The onus is on the hitter, unless you are Weber

Well this win tonight will even be more special come the time we win it Wednesday. Just adds to our storybook final .

Let's get a quick one and then another on a PP that is going to be given to make it seem like the refs are calling it even and it will be 3-2

And lets all give a round of applause to Scuderi for his return!!!!!!!!

I could throw all the blame on Bernier right now, and rightfully so, but really at the end of the day our record breaking regular season PK was no where to be found. I would have been okay had they only scored once on PP considering it was 5 minutes long, but 3 times is absolutely ****ing terrible. Not only tonight but this whole series and a good portion of the playoffs, their PK was awful. The most puzzling part is how it could fall SO much from where it was in the regular season. I can't even begin to fathom how it declined so badly.

I want to say I have hope and that the Devils could rally back from this but I'd be lying. My hope is gone, the tears have started to fall and I have tried to cope with the fact that they lost. I pray to God that I am wrong and I'll gladly eat a lifetime supply of crow if I am. In the end, the odds this Devils team has overcome this season. The obstacles they had to get through to get to this point and the hard work they have put into this entire season has me speechless. No-one gave them a shot in hell to make it past the 2nd round... Heck, some didnt give them a shot at making the playoffs. They battled through and never gave up and for that I couldnt be more proud of this team. The biggest question I will continually ask myself this post season will be, what if Kovalchuk was 100% healthy? His contribution this post season has been outstanding when you consider the severity of his injury, although not released to the public, it is clear the way he skates how bad it is.

Just wanted to get this off my chest, its been a great post season with you all! Even though I'm new here I feel I've found a home here. When everyone around me is cheering against the Devils, its nice to retreat back to these forums and know I am surronded by hundreds of people that share the same love I do for this squad. So thank you HF boards for an amazing post season, may there be plenty more where this came from.

Of course, I hope the Devils prove me wrong in these next 40 minutes to keep the dream alive. And sorry for such a long post, but I needed to say it.

Oh that's right. The Puck was being passed to the left where, had Bernier been looking for it, would've went after it. But instead he decides to go after Scuderi 'cause he couldn't keep his cool.

And after that, the whole thing snowballed into one ball of crap on us.

Bernier made no effort whats so ever to manage that hit..He wasnt coming in from the side he came directly from behind..made no effort to turn. pull up or avoid the contact. It was probably the only correct call they made in the period .All that said the officiating in the NHL is brutal and extremely inconsistent. They missed three calls on the Kings that should have been called, but the Bernier hit was absolutely the correct c

I come home from work and hear that the Devils basically got jobbed in the 1st period. Knew it was too good to be true. Gotta love NHL referees. Complete ****ing garbage.

If we're blaming Marty on that third goal what about Andy Greene? It burns my ass people say we should pull Marty, but let a guy like Andy Greene who screwed up royally there stay in the game?

If anything pull Marty to avoid the embarrassment. Not because our POS PK can't kill off a historically bad Kings PP this playoffs which PP goal count has just doubled in this series. I know we should have had 2 minute 4 on 4 before Bernier's major, but come on you gotta kill those things. We almost lost to Florida cause our PK was horrible. Florida had respectable numbers though. LA's was 16 out of 16 coming into this.

Get lost. Fayne is a big reason the Devils made it to the Cup Final in the first place.

He's not a Devils fan.

It's difficult to remember this now, but necessary. He took all his previous goodwill and set it on fire with one dumb play, but hopefully we'll look back and remember all the good plays instead of the one bad.
