Jeff Carter's going to win the Stanley Cup.

Fortunately, we didn't have to say that about Adam Foote post-Columbus.

Horrible officiating today, but LA won this fair and square.

Quitter has 2 goals, but I thiink they will give one back to Brown because I think it went off Marty's glove.

Hate that Quitter's going to win the Cup. But it'll be cool to see it awarded at home again. It's been too long since that was the case.

Geez Devils. Another extended pp against? Control yourselves.

I would say Steve Bernier will be testing the FA market.

Sound response, it was a severe boarding play all the way (the five minute one).. The LA guy was lucky to not have ended up with a broken neck.. It amazes me how a fan base can be jaded toward an entire team just because of a single trade, I understand the hate for one player but the entire team who had nothing to do with said trade?

I think its the boarding on Gionta that wasn't called. If that's called there is no Bernier penalty. Even though it was a penalty and a good call.

Just for perspective, of the other Western teams that were "bad" my first full season watching hockey in 2006-07:
-Phoenix: 3 playoff trips, Pacific champs this year.
-Chicago: Multiple playoff trips, Central champs, Stanley Cup 2010
-St. Louis: Central champs
-Los Angeles- Barring nuclear disaster, Stanley Cup.

The Gionta non-call was marginal, 50/50. Especially in a play off game.

Retaliation loses every time... had that NJ hit not taken place this game might be 1-0 Kings right now.. Immaturity, stupidity, ill advised... I could go on, the Devils are to blame not the refs..

I want Adam Henrique, he might win the Calder.. Take note, he is a 22 year old rookie center.

If carter can hate Columbus for no reason, I get to hate LA for no reason.

Actually, it's not for no reason. The amount of crap music, TV and movies pumped out of LA is also weighed against them, much the same as Country music is held against Nashville.

What amazes me is how anyone could legitimately not be bothered by someone quitting on a team and then getting to hoist the cup after pouting his way out of town. But I've never been one to forgive or forget. Both of those options are generally good strategies for getting ****ed over again.

Either hitting a guy from behind and driving him into the boards is a penalty or it isn't. Gionta could have been severely injured on that play just as Scuderi could have been. Neither one apparently was. Now granted the Bernier hit was harder and in full view of everyone. Maybe the refs just missed the Gionta hit, but to say it shouldn't have been called is not right imo.

Kings are outplaying the Devils no question about it, but the no-call was a factor.

So who gets the Conn Smythe? Brown, Quick, Kopitar, or Doughty?

Not to mention the puck was nowhere near Gionta when the hit was made. ******** non-call.

Well, you could tell Scuderi knew a hit was coming, then turned his back to it on purpose. Is it legit?? I guess. But the ref should've saw that.

I say Quick by the slightest of edge over Brown. Wouldn't be surprised if it went the other way.

Quick should get it, been the MVP all year, nothing different in the playoffs. Brown is a headhunter. Kopitar is their best forward.

I'm not entering your trap, I'll just say, in the big picture there will not be an asterisk next to Carters name on the Stanley Cup.... and few will ever be cognizant that he spent a few months in Columbus prior to becoming a King. In fact, I'd bet most NHL fans 20 years from now will probably think Philly traded him along with Richards to LA. In three words, waste of time.
