Sorry this is the first time I have been able to get on the forum today.......Yes there is definately an uneasy feeling here in Cedar Rapids. My phone and Twitter account blew up once he was drafted and the Hockey Magazine tweeted that it was a done deal with Anthony going to Rimouski.
The Deluca family definately has something to think about and after meeting them this weekend I have no doubt they will make the best decision for Anthony and his future. Great people......I can't say enough about them. I sat with Angelo tonight during the Top Prospects game at camp....BTW Anthony had a goal and assist tonight.
While I hope he still lands in the USHL, I can't fault him for wanting to persue a career in Major Junior.

I hate to tell you, but he was going to follow the current trend.. LSL kids are going to the Q right now, and with guys like Chaput doing well there, it's helping the Q's cause.
Rimouski's a challenge and a nice fit, and it helps that Crosby went through there...
One of the more intriguing guys at camp was highly skilled forward Anthony DeLuca. The Quebec resident was a Future’s Draft pick of the Riders last year and has verbally committed to play college hockey at Vermont but was drafted over the weekend in the second round of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft by the Rimouski Oceanic.
It appears he’ll ultimately have a decision to make, whether he wants to go the USHL/college route or play major junior in Canada and thus permanently be ineligible to play American juniors and college hockey.
“Basically I came here to tryout for the team,” DeLuca said. ”It just so happened Rimouski picked me. I didn’t really know (anything) until after they picked me. Nothing was said before. I told them I was here, and I guess they took a chance because they had a lot of picks in the draft.
“I’m pretty sure I’m going to be playing in Cedar Rapids next year.”

He told Rimouski he'd play there next year...
They wouldn't of taken him that high if he wasn't going to..
im not going to say the kid is not ultra skilled....great speed, very strong on the puck and on his skates, amazing shooter and the ability to create everytime he is on the ice.....all sounds amazing but he will have to fix his attutide, he will have to fix his tunnel vision he has great passing skills but NEVER EVER passes he would rather deek out the whole team or at least try to before he would think about passing the puck, he seems pretty set on not passing im not sure if he can get over that part.
No clue. Season starts two weeks later than previous years, but it doesn't look like camps with be affected. Mooseheads first pre-season game is on the 18th of August just like last year.... So mid-August, I dunno.
