Fun coincidence I started thinking about as the Kings were making this run. I was born in Columbus in October 1978, have lived in Philadelphia since the early/mid 80's, and been a Los Angeles Kings fan since the summer of 1989 because I was a big Star Wars fan and there was a guy named Luc on the team. Columbus, Philadelphia, LA. This Cup doesn't happen without those three teams in those three cities being involved in trades together. A fun coincidence.
The Kings lived up to pre-season expectations. They exceeded regular season performance. Hell of a ride. Bumpy. As Lombardi has said, that game in Detroit that the Kings lost late, that was the moment. It was do or die after that.
Richards Game 1 against Vancouver. Stoll actually scoring a goal in Game 5 against Vancouver. Penner actually scoring a goal in Game 5 against Phoenix. Now there's not just Olympic Doughty, but Cup Doughty. Nothing else to say about Quick, from September through June, a crazy season for that man.
Hehehehehehehe. I wanna go again! I wanna go again!
as an oilers fan, i'm extremely happy for stoll and greene, they came so close in '06 with edmonton and to win one now with the kings is very cool. ever since the gretzky years, i've always had a soft spot for the kings and i'm really pumped to see them win it this year. congrats LA very, very well deserved
(doesn't hurt they embarrased the s**t outta vancouver too )
Stanley Cup Champions 2012...Your LOS ANGELES KINGS...how does that sound???????
It will take a while for that to sink in.
Just an awesome, surreal feeling. Can't wait for the parade / party on Thursday!!!
I'm actually anxious for next season to start to see what a DS team can do over a full season. Well, after I enjoy a long hot summer watching the Kings party with the Cup. Wow! Is this really happening?!?!?
2012 Stanley Cup Champions!! I just love how that looks!
You know what's weird? I'm watching the goal highlights, and on the 4th goal by Carter, he was on the ice with Kopi and Brown. It wasn't a PP, was it in the midst of a line change or was Suter juggling lines?
